This is a key point.
Visually similar characters with evidently different personalities can be done, but only up to like half a dozen or so, tops.
It doesn't work as well when you have dozens of visually identical characters barring color scheme.

Maybe she could have small spines, and have a special move that pumps them up for a few turns to defend the party.

The small spines could also play into the character, like s/he is embarrassed that their spines are smaller thank a regular pokey and they join the party to overcome their shyness.

Chapter 5 in both 64 and TTYD, I'm a sucker for island adventures.

I really love TTYD, but 64 just edges out the victory by virtue of lacking General White and the 100 "I love you" sections and anything similar. I also love SPM, but I don't replay it nearly as often as the other two.

this is also why people had zero problems with the 3D remake, you had everything from Star Fox 64, the option to play it normally or the new gyros controls, and slightly expanded Multiplayer.

all they had to do is just port it in HD and add additional levels and secrets they wanted in game. and replace the shitty Gyrocopter/Direct-I levels with Roadmaster levels.

We don't know how the survey was worded. I seriously doubt the respondents went out of their ways to trash SPM's story. It's just another weak justification for NSMBifying the series, probably because games like SS and CS are easier to make.
