What is the most /out/ video game?

What game provides the best sense of the outdoors, and nature's beauty and cruelty?
My favorite is The Long Dark, but I'm curious to hear all of yours

inb4 Breath of the Wild
>>
Also interested. Modded skyrim can only do so much for me, and I'm hype as fuck for Breath of the Wild.
>>
>>342175603
Long Dark is piratable?

Contribuiting with the thread, Survival Kids for GBC has some pretty spot on survival mechanics

No idea, but I don't know why it wouldn't be

breath of the wild, without a doubt

It's not even out yet, nintenyearolds
>>
anyone know how The Forest is? got it in a humble bundle and assumed it was zombie-rehash garbage but has pretty good steam reviews
>>
>>342176505
I bought it on release, it's really gotten a lot better
The survival is pretty piss easy, honestly, animals aren't hard to catch and kill, fish are everywhere, so are berries
Building and fighting the cannibals are the fun parts
Nothing like building your little base only to find one night that some unspeakable mutant horror has jumped your wall and is now chasing you with its legs spread

I love taking a stroll through nature in GTA V looking at animals and listening to the ambience.

I was really into the hunting side mission when it first started.

But then being insta murdered by mountain lions causing a big backtrack along with the needless multistep of taking pictures of the animals and texting them but it no fun.

I played the shit out of it a few months back and I didn't pay for shit
>>

did they ever increase the FoV cap past 90 (which felt more like 80 FoV, was probably diagonal fov)

I literally couldn't play the game without getting a head ache. My monitor is too big for that shit.

I'm guessing you're in the southern hemisphere so it is winter? If so, that is the perfect time to trap fur game (frost has killed the parasites and their wintercoat is in). So setup some traps and get a pelt.

Thehunter is pretty good for this for a while.
You just stated the exact reason I got into it.

I recently bought The Long Dark and I was genuinely surprised at how good it was for an unfinished indie survival crafting sandbox game, knowing how shit they tend to be.
The art style really complements the gameplay and world, and it looks stunning.
I think it's the closest videogame we have to The Grey and The Revenant.
It has it's issues, yes, but it's nowhere near the shit you get in other games in it's genre.
