Wii U was supposed to be "about the games" and look at all the fucking droughts we got. It wasn't even worth a purchase until late 2014 and even the library didn't have all that many good games.

But Xenoblade X's Wii U optimization was terrific and aside from low spawn in rates when Skelling around at the speed of sound, the game used what the console could do to its fullest. FrontierNav on the gamepad worked great.
If anything I wished you could issue those (+) menu orders in combat with the gamepad since it's basically useless while in combat.

Instead of just telling you to get it or not, I'll say that it's really niche, which is the polar opposite of the original Xenoblade. That being said, if you really like exploring for the sake of exploring, you'll probably love it. I'm 60 hours in and only just got through story chapter 6 of 12, but it's looking to be one of my favorite RPGs despite it's shortcomings.

I've been doing a second playthrough recently and noticed something in Lao's first Affinity Mission, the one where you help out his team with putting a probe in Oblivia. Spoilers for the main story and Yelv's AMs.There's a guy on Lao's team named Mondo. If you notice, he doesn't speak much, in fact he doesn't introduce himself, one of the other guys introduces him. I don' think he speaks at all in Oblivia, and only says one line once you're back in NLA.
Anyways, during that mission Tatsu comments twice in two different scenes about how he's getting a similar vibe from Mondo and the protag.
Could Mondo be a J-body like Yelv and the protag? Could Eleanora be placing J-bodies on teams throughout BLADE? We know that Elma trained Yelv before the story begins so its possible she knows about J-bodies as well, or even that they're made from her tech like Skells and the White Whale are.

What was interesting to see in the shift of vidya development from the 2000s to know was the focus.
you guys remember when at E3 they would go up there and talk about physics? Games used to be all about physics. Hell IIRC one of the reasons the last guardian got so big was because of that.
But around 2007ish devs started focusing on graphics, but now we're reaching photo-realism so they're gonna have to go back to improving physics if they want to push for innovation.
Oh yeah and games have kinda gotten easier,I'm not gonna stress on QTEs since we already know that,but one thing that's changed a lot are UIs in many games.

Had Monolith Soft been able to make the full six installments of Xenosaga as was originally planned it would have been fantastic.
As it was, the story structure of Xenosaga was good enough for Bioware to create Mass Effect from the same formula right down to the fucked up ending of the third installment, only with different characters and plot specifics.
