Cold Steel is a Trails game through and through. The combat system is vastly improved compared to the Sky games. The voice acting is really well done, and adds a lot of personality to the characters. The sidequests feel like less of a slog. Cold Steel is a solid game.

Nah, the school shit really ruined the game. The school itself wasn't that bad and the NPCs were all likable as always, but you could just as easily have had a hub like the Crossbell arc did without having a setting that forces you to introduce a large cast of main characters all at once which led to everyone feeling underdeveloped and boring, and leads to stuff like character conflicts being dragged on way longer than they should (Alisa's grudge, Jusis and Machias' rivalry, Fie and Laura's shitfest of an arc, etc).
