I played nearly every RE game when they came out except for Resident Evil 0. I love the fuck out of RE:4 and below.
But 0... the item system alone ruins this game. Not to mention the focus on action and tedious partner swapping shit.
It's still a beautiful game thoug and, honestly, there's a bit of fun to be had. RE:0 can easily be a guilty pleasure game.
No one that matters will ever defend RE0, in any form, anywhere in the universe.

I really enjoyed it. The atmosphere as usual is incredible, I think this game perfected the pre-rendered+polygonal characters overlay more so that REmake did.

Why are people so afraid of change? RE6 was 75% garbage. There's 10 fucking RE games like RE1 and another 4 like RE4. Who even gives a shit what they do with the franchise now? They made fucking Operation Raccoon City. They've milked this god damn franchise and ran it in to the ground.
And your complaint is that it's first person and Silent Hill-like. Jesus fucking christ. Alright fullstop let's pull RE7 and begin RE6-2. Now Wesker has 8 kids and they're all infected with a zombie virus but you can save them by shooting rockets at 50 foot tall mutated monsters. Then the last boss can be defeated by shooting a helicopter in to a volcano to cause a lava explosion that melts away the chains of the draw bridge that the last boss is standing on. He falls into a river but he can't swim. Then you meet up with Chris at a bar and inject steroids into eachother.
