Got three million buckaroos. Game was advertised as basically totally-not-Megaman.
People first starting shitting on it when the 3D models were revealed despite the fact we had artwork for the game from day one.
Then there was a female community manager which meant the game was shit because there was a girl on the team.
Then Deep Silver approached them with a publishing deal for physical copies.
Then animation teams approached them to ask about potentially making a cartoon series. But /v/ assumes Inafune funded this cartoon single-handedly with the backer money because they have no concept of how these types of deals actually work.
Then Deep Silver, because Deep Silver has always been shit, did a shit job marketing it by trying to make a trailer that pandered to 90s kids with cringey voice over and insulted a large portion of the weeb fandom.
And it got delayed a bunch of times while all this stuff was happening.
So now there's no longer legit criticism and it's hard to tell who isn't just another bandwagon hater shitposting because it's cool to hate now.

One thing people need to consider about george is that he does a handsul of stuff for his games by himself, for free. Not everything, and not always on the coding end either, but he does put work into pretty much everything.
Also, most of his staff does like 2 or 3 job at least.

Why did anyone believe this? He effectively kileld the series before it was killed. He pushed for his OC Zero to get a bigger and bigger role in the X series. X4 is the first one he was producer for and oh so coincidentally Zero is playable. Then he tried to kill the X series, to make the Zero series. Which, whether you like the Zero games or not, they aren't really Mega Man. Then the focus was on Mega Man Battle Network and other spin off games. The ZX games sold so poorly they killed the series.
After 8 and Rockman/Forte there were no classic Mega Mans. The series was dead for 10 years until MM9.
Inafune has to get at least partial blame for the stagnation of Mega man games from the mid-90's onwards.

You don't need to know the language. Just does it sound like this person is really the one talking and do they sell the character and emotions?
Japanese have professional voice actors and it's usually quality. English dubs are much cheaper and the quality varies much more. A good English Dub is just as good as a good Japanese dub. But you're more likely to get a good quality JP dub.
Thematically if it's a setting in Japan I tend to like Japanese voices. It's weird for Akira Takanawa in Tokyo using English voices. If it's a more generalized setting with Euro characters, then I'm fine with english.

Is it wrong that I don't see anything wrong with the bottom left picture? It is a factory, we see lots of stuff moving in the background, we see metal plated walls that aren't smooth, we see support beams with lights, we see machines carrying boxes around, and etc.
Bottom right is a "what the fuck were they thinking", unless it is supposed to be an 'energy/technology' based boss and the background is black for a game mechanic like things flying out towards the camera or shit.
I haven't really payed attention to the Mighty No. 9 media because I knew I would love it and enjoy the crap out of it.... which is why I instantly knew it would probably be shit. Dina did some fan art of Beck in her personal character that she made. The emotions were running high, so this was turned into people saying Dina wanted to replace beck with this character. It was just a rumor though.
