The game is actually fairly long. Probably 30-40 hours for a single play through.
The game however is not that great. It's above Star Ocean 4 but it's still not good. Major problems with the game are a trash story, combat is mind numbingly easy and it reuses areas way too much. Personally I'd say the game is too long just because the last half of it is a slog and just not fun to play.
If Star Ocean 4 was a 5/10 game, Star Ocean 5 is a 6/10 game that drops to a 3/10 game the more you play it.
