It turned out that the serial codes for Wii Minis were practically identical, except for the last five digits.
So people would generate 5-string digits from this random online string generator, and keep typing in the serial codes until they worked.
Now, you could only register one system per person, but have multiple people on a family account. People made bonus family members and got hundreds or thousands of free coins.
But then we got squealed on and Nintendo went shutting down a fuckton of accounts like 3 months before Club Nintendo would be over for good.

Yeah, the exploit got me enough coins to get sticker star for free, and even then I felt like I overpaid for it

The best thing about the Wii isn't Wii games, it's being able to play every gamecube game for free natively, without emulation.

Yes, those were fun times before piracy got big. We had threads almost every second trying to get codes & each new account we made kept getting banned eventually. I got 30+ games from it with no consequence.
I got a fuck ton of games from the exploit, sold them on ebay and made out with 800 dollars.
