As someone who has played since 10 years ago in the good ol' wc3 days, I feel pretty qualified to say that DotA is a shit game.
DotA's heyday was back in 6.66c senpai. If you think the game is well balanced now, you would fucking shit yourself about 6.66c.
The biggest problem with DotA, toxic community aside (which isn't even that bad compared to old wc3), is that you have to play through about 50 games to find that one game that is so immensely fun. That one game is so fucking fun though that it makes up for it, yes it is a deep experience and so much crazy fun but you shouldn't have to sift through 50 mediocre or infuriating games to find the orgasmic one.
Don't get me wrong, I have played about 8000 hours of DotA, but I feel strongly sad if it is your favorite game.
