After playing every GoW game, it has gotten stale anon. By the time the third one released, I was bored of it. I rememeber finishing GoW 1&2 in one day. The third one, took me around 3 weeks. I'm glad they changed the pace plus who knows what it will be like, they literally only showed 9 minutes in what seems to be the beginning of the game.

good combat requires you to use combos at advanced stages to complete it.

That kid is clearly there for "feels". That's what those walking sims go for. You walk, talk, look at stuff, climb things and talk. Then you get action and do more walking and talking. It's obvious. You think the kid will be ditched? They're giving Kratos a personality. That kid will cower far away and shoot his bow while you fight. Every once in a while he will be in danger.
The best thing about GOW was it was just Kratos exploring all this great shit in solice. You're only goals were to get revenge on Ares and then take out your father Zeus. Right away they showed off the axe attack techniques, that it can be used as a projectile weapon, after you throw it you can still fight with your fists

The point of the game isn't combos. It's about rolling, blocking and parrying. As well as utilizing your magic and side weapons. Most enemies have far efficient ways to deal with them. If you want to roll around and just do one combo I guess with enough persistence you can beat most everything. I just don't know why you would. There is grabbing enemies, throwing them, punching them, picking them up and ramming other enemies with them. Lot's of weapon varients, different magic.

Personally, I dont like the new 3rd person model, but a story of kratos and his son is itnresting and is a nice suprise. Theyre trying something new, and I dont think we should judge too harshly from just 10 minutes of gameplay and nothing else. Those 10 minutes were just to excite people for more, and it was something nobody really expected, while god of war 1-3, we knew were being made and were desperate for gameplay in those e3's.

This camera sucks. It's like they tried to use the RE4 camera without guns. It is understandable for a shooter because there's always a dot to see where you're aiming at. But with close combat, it is purely nonsensical because you can't see exactly how far your axe or any weapon can reach.

For me it was State of Decay 2 only because I never in a thousand years would have expected to get another one, and it's a game I have been dying to play co-op with for years.
But I was pleasantly surprised to see a new GoW game. I've never been the biggest fan since when it came out my first thought was "this is like easy-mode DMC" but it is fun. It's too bad that being easy DMC spawned a million other games that ended up getting called "GoW clones" when GoW itself was a DMC clone. But, none of that matters. The age of hack and slash games over saturating the market is gone.
What I can definitely say about the GoW games is, despite being DMC lite the two I played were both thoroughly fun. I just hope the new game is actually a fun hack n slash action game and not a TLOU clone like it seems to be instead of a DMC clone, which it was fine as.
