Why aren't you fisting deathclaws to death on very hard mode?
What does the skill requirement for a weapon do? Do you do a lower percentage of damage if it's lower? Does having skills above the requirement help at all?

Guns spread increases and melee/unarmed weapons will attack slower, if you don't meet reqs.

if you have the Slayer perk, Love and Hate can take care of most enemies and you will want a Displacer Glove or Pushy to deal with Cazadors and Deathclaws. It does about the same amount of damage as a Ballistic Fist but it can also stagger enemies.

If you're not doing an RP build you can use 0 traits, they aren't straight up improvements like perks
WW doesn't even change that much, it's just a couple easter eggs here and there. The biggest difference is that it swaps out the mercs with a gauss rifle with aliens with alien pistol
The gauss rifle is better because it doesn't have permanently limited ammo.

There were no skellingtons in Vault 3, since the vaulters were still there until the Fiends killed them. The trash is literally from the fiends themselves; they don't give a damn about anything besides drugs and rape. If you tell them you're a Kahn (and thus can walk around normally) you can literally stealth-kill someone right in front of another Fiend and they won't even agro.

I don't think the game intended for him to be right. He's heavy handed and very drastic about his pain and his suggested course of action is very childish. Ulysses may pontificate but that doesn't mean he's right; it only means he's sophisticated about his anger.
Contrast this with Joshua, a similar character. Joshua is also advocating drastic action but because of the need for a greater good. He's convinced himself to an extent of his actions as a result of his past, but he is motivate by the need to protect those that have entrusted himself to him rather than just anger.

For me, it's one of the few things Bethesda has improved on, because it doesn't suck you immediately out of the game when you want to pick something up.

The build up quests are pretty dull, but that fucking payoff is amazing.
Even if I don't side with the NCR, the Powder Gangers are useless and don't bring anything to the game, which is a shame. I'd love to have a Yesman/House option where you can pay them to blow up NCR trade routes, directing the trade flow towards Vegas.

Joe Cobb was out for himself and his gang only. They were Powder Gangers, but they wanted their own little town to push around. I never got how shooting him suddenly made you instantly vilified with the rest of the group. I should have made you shunned or hated, allowing you to have some chance of redemption. But as I said, the Powder Gangers add fuck all to the game so you might as well just defend Goodsprings at the start.

There is a splinter group inside Vault 19 who can join the Great Khans. However, they don't provide anything at Hoover Dam. It's more a case of "do you want to buy a shit load of dynamite from the Great Khans? Well now you can!"
Wouldn't make sense for them to join the Legion, but it would work if someone like Vulpes could manipulate them into blowing up NCR bases, and then after the Legion would just finish them off.
Melee is boring. Explosives is where it's at.

You don't have to kill either of them. Just use the one of the stealth boys you find in the building and sneak past the nightkin to find Harland's friend then search the room. It's a good quest to do if you're playing as a pacifist.

>What makes it so good?
I could probably fill up several posts wasting your time but on a short list:
1) Immersive, nuanced RPG where you get a fantastic level of control over your character, how they're built and how they interact and how they influence the world around them.
2) Wonderful world-building and story-telling, you come to really get engrossed in it over time and there's so much to it in terms of strong story conversations about it last half a decade following its release.
3) Extremely expansive, there are so many quests, weapons, locations, I find it nearly impossible to do it all in one playthrough, it's so huge for a relatively contained map that I still miss things on every playthrough I'm excited to find on another one like Westside or Searchlight. This adds really well to its replay-ability with how many unique characters you can make or fighting tools to use.
4) It's challenging, but has fantastic pacing and design of this world that doesn't keep you on rails and rewards appropriate exploration, it essentially fixes all the things that were wrong with Fallout 3's mechanics.
I could go on but I would say the one flaw: it's a bugged game, not enough QA went into it. I'd recommend YUP, Anti-crash, anti-stutter mods off of nexus to mitigate the crashes you'll experience. Otherwise, save often.

I would recommend installing the JSawyer mod, it's as close to a Director's cut you'll get for the game made by its actual director to fix numerous bugs and balance issues he wanted to install, plus it makes the game a little more challenging. Turn on Hardcore mode for certain, and besides that I can't really think what else to add other than make sure you invest a little bit in all skills, they're really useful as a whole to the game. And I recommend following the suggested South path after Goodsprings.

Mod Organizer is a far better alternative if you want to eventually start playing around with mods, and as the anon said, vanilla+ mods like JSawyer and YUP are highly recommended.

Bug fixing mainly. JSawyer doesn't fix as many bugs as you may think, and it certainly doesn't fix as many DLC related problems as the YUP does.
They both work in contingency with each other so don't worry about any overlap or clashing.
There is Mission Mojave, but some of the changes are more cosmetic than actually fixing bugs. There is also a big issue with it at the moment regarding healing at doctors, where they simply won't do it. You cripple your legs, you best find a doctors bag or you're fucked.

But I think you should try it even if you just want to play Fallout 3 (if you can bother installing it of course, it takes a while)

With TTW there is an additional plugins set of mods for better integration between both games. If you prefer NV skill checks rather than the "percentage checks which aren't based on luck at all and the % is there to allude and confuse you", there is a mod which changes all of Fallout 3's checks to NV style ones.

I don't know, but it's obvious that Todd just wanted to take a shortcut. The weapon is probably fixed to a point relative to the character's right hand. So they made the right hand stay on the hand grip no matter what, meaning that the left hand has to operate the action. Thus, every bolt action rifle in the game as to be a left handed rifle.
Most people in Fallout 4 are left handed. Manufacturers never produced right handed rifles in quantity.

As New Vegas and Morrowind are my two favorite games of all time, I highly recommend Alpha Protocol. Be warned, it starts off pretty average. But once you get out of the middle east, it gets good fast. Amazing and hilarious characters, twists and choices that change based on what order you do missions/locations/intel.
My advice: When you do any mission that is simply "meet with X" or "talk with X", wear casual clothing, not armor.
BUY INTEL. Buy all Dossiers. All of them. Before a mission, check the net for dossier's to buy. You can avoid gun-drop/bribe guard/ intel, but buy the maps and dossier's. After a mission, check again. Search levels thoroughly. Pick up every document/item and hack every safe and computer.
Intel opens up options in dialogue, and allows more choices of handling things.
After your first playthrough, you'll be searching for ways of doing things differently that you didn't know you could do. Lets just say "Marburg."

Jury Rigging is useless because weapon repairs aren't a big deal by the time you raise your skills enough to get it. Meltdown damages you and your companions whenever you use energy weapons.
Energy weapons also suck because they leave permanent ash piles everywhere.
