>Yelling about a 5.6

Didn't even back this game, but y'all are retarded.

All games start at 5. They are neither good nor bad. Their pros and cons add or subtract points.

Obviously the game's new Dash feature raised the game up fairly high, and the game was cut down by the cons bit by bit.

It is slightly better than average, AKA mediocre. There's nothing wrong with mediocre, it just didn't deliver more than what was averagely expected.

The reason you guys can't bear anything below an 8 is because you were all told that a C or below on your report card was a death sentence. In Europe, getting a 6/10 is a perfectly fine score and many cheer for it.
>>
The point is that 9 is mediocre in IGN scale
>>
I think of it as a report card you would get as a kid. You wouldn't be happy to show your parents a 56%.

Game Review scores are literally the same thing as Academic grading.

10 - A+ - The game/student 's parents either bribed the teacher or this game is stellar and does everything you'd want it to and surprises you with its goodness.
9 - A - The game is great maybe some small fault but nothing glaring. Student did all its work in a competent fashion.
8 - B - The game is fine and did well. The student missed a few assignments or flunked one test but at the end got his act together.
7 - C - The Game has problems but its alright. The student either was lazy but still got his shit done or the teacher took pity on the idiot.
6 - D - The game is bad but could have been something, has glimmer of hope. The student is a fucking retard.
5 and below - F - Shit game. Should have aborted the kid.

In the UK, you need 70% to get the highest undergraduate degree 'grade' (a 1:1). The second best needs 60% (2:1)

Anything above 40% is technically a pass, but anything less than 60% is considered dogshit. Still, this is ridiculously low, and if you're good at your STEM subject, you can easily get 80/90%.

This proves OP incorrect.

All you have to do nowadays is watch 5 minutes of a game on Youtube and you'll know quickly if the game is actually worth your time.

Game reviews were a necessity 10 years ago when we didn't have Youtube, before that you only had demos and snippets of footage to actually get a feel for the game.

I have not read an actual review in years. Reading a game review is as worthless as reading film reviews or listening to god forbid a music critic.

From a quick Youtube video I can't tell if Hearts of Iron IV is a good game. I'd have to read about it.

But any real action game you can tell so quickly if the game is good. In the same way you can tell if a car is well made just by seeing it perform on a track or view a test drive.

If by your logic it starts at 5, and does not even have enough "pros" to bump it up to a 6 then it's a shit game.

Something that isn't bad enough to drop to 4 or rise to 6 is absolutely trash.
Deadly Premonition earned the 2.0 IGN gave it long ago and that was interesting and controversial and convinced me to try the game.
I would not, on the other hand, play a game that struggled so much to come out, with so many delays made to tune the game up further, that still turned out like shit in the end.
