Pop or flop?
>>
Dunno, I'm a PAL-peasant still waiting for my physical copy. The demo has been great though.

It doesn't feel quite as fast-flowing as Muramasa combat, but maybe I'm just not playing it properly.
>>
>>342096463
why would it? it's older.
>>
>>342096463
why dont you just import ?
>>
>>342096463
At least yuros are getting it

Sony forgot about South America this time around
>>
>>342096178
it's wonderful and Mercedes' arc made me cry when she becomes queen. Is this a remake?
>>
>>342096507
They overhauled the combat to play more like Dragon's Crown.
>>
>>342096589
>Is this a remake?
Yes
>>
>>342096507
Because they completely revamped the combat mechanics? At least that's what I heard. And also that's how it feels, I've got the original on PS2.

>>342096553
Same reason I didn't import Muramasa Rebirth. If you had a physical NA copy in the PAL regions, you couldn't get the fucking DLC. It's annoying, but at least it's only a few weeks difference, unlike the usual case of anything from an entire year to never-fucking-ever.

>>342096580
My condolances, anon. Does the NTSC version work in South America, or is it fucked?
>>
>>342096178
I never played the original. What was the appeal of it? I heard it was grindy and boring since you had to do the same shit with every character or something back in the day so I never bothered with it.

>mfw didn't realise there's a demo because the UK store is fucking shit and had it unlisted for some retarded reason
>>
>>342096463
This wait is killing me

I just want to play some Odin Sphere in bed like I did years ago.

Just a few more days though.
>>
>>342096798
This. What the fuck, UK PSN?
>Go to Latest
>Last update was from fucking May or something
>Manually search for Odin Sphere
>It's fucking there
They need to sort their shit out, holy fuck.
>>
>>342096589

It's a remake. They've rebuilt most of the game's systems from the ground-up but you do have the option to use the old battle system I think.
>>
>>342096712
The American version works, but it's much more expensive to import

For example, I can buy Uncharted 4 for around $170 right now from an actual store with warranty and free shipping. The only place I can find Odin Sphere right now is in our eBay equivalent for $350
>>
>>342096973
Holy shit, that's an obscene amount of money. What's the standard price for a new release in SA? Because that makes Australia look reasonable in comparison.
>>
>>342096798
That's how the entire store is in the US also. Have to manually search most games to find demos/dlc.
>>
Just finished Mercedes' story.

What a great gal, she finally grew up.
>>
it's breddy good
>>
>>342096798
>>342097094
I haven't checked for a while, but I swear demos were displayed up front on Xbox Live.
Can't remember for Nintendo-eStore or Steam, off the top of my head.
Why wouldn't you want to promote demos? Do they want to save the promotional space for stuff you actually have to pay for, or something?
>>
>>342097057
Pretty much

New releases tend to go for around 200 to 250, but they usually have a price drop a few weeks later (Uncharted 4 is sitting at the 170~200 range right now). It used to be worse when Sony didn't publish anything officially here, but it's still bad

Imported games are the worst, though, as the seller pays 60 dollars + 15 shipping and that is already in the $250 range, so he charges 100 more for profit. I couldn't find a copy of Disgaea 5 for less than 280 so far and I feel like it will be the same for Persona 5
>>
>>342097403
Good grief, that's daylight robbery. I used to think £50 was kind of steep, but perspective counts for a lot, I suppose.
Why does it need to be so expensive in certain territories? Is it due to inflation or something?
>>
>>342096178
demo was looking mighty good
>>
Is there any difference between PS3 and PS4 version?

Cause PS3 is like 20€ cheaper, so I'd go for that if there is none.

Also, what are the differences between this and the PS2 version?
>>
>>342097574
Two reasons, mostly

Pretty bad exchange ratio (1 USD = 3.5 BRL) and a retarded 60% tax on anything tech related. It's like we are a worse Australia.

At least we don't have bandwidth caps (until 2018 cause they decided to implement those in here too)
>>
>>342097776
Oh wow.

Don't tell me that shit is comming to Europe as a whole.

Will Brexit free the rest of all from this evil?
>>
>>342097750
The battle system's been heavily reworked from the original; it's kind of a mid-point between a remaster and an outright remake. Though there's the option to play it as it was originally and effective just have it as a remaster.

As for the PS3/PS4 comparison, it's quite marginal apart from some small performance differences, there's no version dependant content or anything. If you don't own a PS4, you can get the PS3 version and not feel like you're getting screwed out of anything.
>>
>>342097776
>60% tax on anything tech related
For what purpose. That's just insane.
>At least we don't have bandwidth caps (until 2018 cause they decided to implement those in here too)
This shit needs to be stopped. What will it take?
>It's like we are a worse Australia.
You also have those horrid spiders I worry about every time I check the banana aisle in the supermarket. Those things horrify me.

>>342097894
>Will Brexit free the rest of all from this evil?
You say that like an EU-independent UK government won't impose that shit anyway. I hate this country sometimes.
>>
>>342096178

PS3 or PC4?
>>
Should I get this on PS4 or Vita? I got Dragon's Crown on Vita so if the performance is good enough I prefer being able to chill in bed playing it.
>>
>>342097894
I have no idea

Good luck with the separation thing, though, from what I hear most of Europe is fucked right now
>>
>>342098068
Between Greece being some kind of financial black-hole, the Syrian crisis on the border and corresponding immigration issue, and everything going in the Ukraine and Russia that people seem to keep forgetting about, Europe does seem kind of fucked.
I don't think that Brexit will help us much though. All I see happening is steeper prices on continental European imports and Westminster having one less target to shift the blame on for their inevitable fuck-ups. The latter is a good thing, but it probably won't prevent those fuck ups.
>>
>>342098351
Europe, as an union, has utterly failed. I think we can all see that.
>>
>>342096178
Looks lovely

Isn't very fun

>>342098010
The tax is supposedly to protect our economy but it makes no sense as we don't have any tech industry. I would love to buy a 1080 made here but since that's not possible I have to drop five grand for one

Also, the bandwidth cap meme will never end because ISPs are greedy fucks that like to sell plans without having the infrastructure to back that up
>>
>>342098565
Yeah, but at the same time it's a bit late to abandon ship. Most of the damage is already done. Then again, things can always get worse, I suppose.
>>
>>342096589
>Original Odin Sphere

More like trash. At least the remake has good combat.

Man, I played the demo yesterday and was extremely pleasantly surprised by how flowing and fast the combat felt. Everything worked great and the game is gorgeous. Can't wait to pick it up.

And dont kid yourself, leaving the eu will have devastating impact in the long run
>>
>>342099013
>Not a yuro but isn't it better to leave now before Merkel asks you guys when are you taking in 200 thousand refugees?
That'll happen anyway. Humanitarian groups will pressure Westminster into doing it, and they'll have to budge when they start finding bodies in the Eurotunnel. It's a fundamental problem that goes beyond the EU, being in or out won't make much difference. If anything it might make things worse, since we'll be back to being uncooperative with France again and it'll take forever for anything to be agreed upon.
>>
>>342096463
>fast-flowing as Muramasa combat
God, thats the biggest hurdle for me with the game.
Everything else is fantastic.
The art.
The music.
The story.
But everything just feels.
So.
Fucking.
Slow.
>>
>>342099117
>60$ for a 120 hours game with no DLC, paid review or shit gimmicks
Seems like a good deal to me.
>>
>>342099454

To be fair there is a lot of content recycling.
>>
>>342096178
I can't remember the last game I played so regularly. Usually, I buy a game and it'll either get one hour outta me or else just sit there unplayed and covered with promises of 'I'll be back later to play'.

This one? I'm actually playing and enjoying the shit out of. Combat is never boring, it's so streamlined and free-flowing. Which boggles me because I have Muramasa and that games combat got boring as fuck pretty quick.
>>
Just played the demo with all 5 characters.

The full game isn't this much of a faceroll, is it?
>>
>>342100010
I'm playing on hard and it quickly becomes harder. It's still not really difficult most of the time, but I'm having to actually manage resources at times and I'm actively trying to play well. There have been some maps that I've died several times on, and even dying once seemed impossible in the demo.
It does start out very easy though, even on hard.
>>
>>342099454
How do you get 120 hours out of this game?
Im nearly done with all endings and all the stuff to do with like 40 hours.
>>
>>342100136
I'm not entirely sure how level progression works, since I never played the original. Do they dole out new abilities/ gimmicks at an acceptable pace?
>>
>>342100136
Playing on hard with potion spaming is still pretty easy but if you fight without it gets a lot harder.
No HP potion, no extra damage potion, no toxing potion that takes out an entire lifebar by itself.
>>
>>342099676
what about vita version? it's only 40

>>
>>342100298
I just finished Cornelius on hard and I'm at 20 hours.
There's an extra hard mode and a new game + and there's the classic mode.
Of course just playing on easy can cut the time a lot but there's no fun in doing that

It's not out in the UK, yet, but everyone knows Bongs don't buy JRPGs, on the whole.
>>
>>342100632
I was expecting something more akin to castleania. would be so much better than this boring arena combat.>>342100415
zero escape easily. before you're spoiled.
>>
>>342100652
Vanillaware stuff is towards the more mainstream end as far as nerdy Japshit goes, but I think he meant more than it's sad that it'll never come close to reaching the sales of popular Western stuff like Overwatch and Uncharted.
>>
>>342099429
pretty sure people complained about Muramasa gameplay despite it being fantastic, so there you go

>>
>>342103637
It probably does, It manages to stay at solid 60 on the Vita except then you throw out multiple potions.
>>
>>342097057
He probably lives in some shithole to pay so much.

I live in Argentina and I got the Vita version of Odin Sphere for $65 2 days after it was released in NA, which is the usual price for $40 handheld games.

For $60 console releases I usually pay around $85.

Collectos editions tend to be more expensive because the transport fees are higher due to the size.

>>342096178
Didnt get around to play it yet.
I got the Vita version and it doesnt have performance issues AFAIC and it has the option to play the remaster mode or the classic mode which is nice.

>>

What, why would you do that? I'm guessing you've never played any of their previous games. Vanillaware games are nothing like Castlevania. Just wait for Shantae HGH and Bloodstained like the rest of us.

Did you actually play it? Quite a few comments of this nature in the thread (assuming they aren't just samefaggery).
>>
>>342107296
yes, you will get bored in no time, rent it first, trust me
>>
>>342107296

Depends. Each character has a different playstyle. In the end you will end up juggling enemies by chaining attacks and skills but each character does it uniquely, one character chains spinning attacks while dishing out vortexes of death, another one fills the screen with projectiles, while another has mode changes.

Though I honestly like it because of the overlapping story arc. Dont know what to say but if you honestly are on the fence, go rent it.
