I get nose bleeds because of a medical condition with too many capillaries close to the surface in my nose, meaning that dry heat like from a heater dries it out enough for it to sometimes crack and cause a nosebleed.

the problem with games like mirror's edge is that falling off a building means restarting at the check point or beginning of the level at most. That's why there is very little fear in any game unless you're setting yourself up for it. Now if you had to restart your entire playthrough if you fall off a building I can guarantee you'd feel something closer to fear.
