>Honestly kind of scared of roundabouts
>Encountered a few little dinky one lane roundabouts
>tfw encountering even the simplest of ones

There's just something about general knowledge of right of way in this country that makes this shit scary. Like if you don't have street lights telling you exactly what to do, people just do what every the fuck they want. That and people always act like they are the only ones on the road with somewhere to be. We have a slightly strange intersection near where I work. On the way home I take a right in it and I have a lane all to myself to turn onto, and people that turned left onto that same street have their own lane, right? Well, about one or two times a week I have people blaring their horn at me because they are in their lane and I'm in mine, like I fucking cut them off while staying in my own lane. If shit ain't perfectly spelt out for people they flip their shit.

I mean I know how roundabouts work. That's not what scares me. It's the other people that scare me.

Floridafag here, roundabouts are retarded not for their design, but for their location. Florida is urban sprawl at its finest, with the added bonus of old people, wannabee drag racers, strict law-abiding citizens, and foreigners who can't read all sharing the same road.

The one place you DO NOT want a roundabout is where all these fuckers converge, and yet every retirment home, apartment complex, and historic downtown has at least one.

Not really a roundabout. Would have same problems as cluttering assloads of intersections together. Inner lane is stupid because it is useless. If it's made one way only it will be congested as fuck and the traffic around it will break. Dumb idea, considering there is something similar and far mess expensive in terms of building and maintenance below it.
Also the intersection entrance is uphill so faggots who cant into himl-starts would cause accidents and again more congestion.

Stupid as fuck idea.

There's two lanes on the streets you are exiting onto.

I don't think this is something peculiar to US roads, there are lots of non-roundabout intersections with multiple turn lanes where you are supposed to stay in your lane as you complete the turn.

What should be done is the second lane on the exiting street should be closed off by the median, and then open back up further along, so that it is absolutely clear that only the outermost lane is for exiting the roundabout.

However, the important thing to remember is that roundabouts are usually taken at about 20km/h. There's plenty of time for reacting and breaking to cars in front doing strange things.

Navigating it isn't too bad. Just keep an eye on the signs. The problem is that every driver in albuquerque would rather die then actually make room from someone wanting to get to an outside lane. That intersection is bumper-to-bumper-at-70 the entire way. You basically have to half way force someone off the road to get into the lane you want. It's such a fucking nightmare.

Man I really loved SimCity's whole futuristic city building, where many of the skyscrapers can be these really giant hubs. That and the art style they went for is pretty great. Everything else I was just disappointed by and just stick with C:S.

Is Snowfall the last C:S dlc or will there be more?

Just focus on imitation. How cities actually operate, there are a bunch of good overviews on the steam forums. Yes you'll fuck up, but eventually you'll get the hang of it, realizing that you don't need to demolish an entire city just to fix one road.

Also, starting over is part of the fun.

not enough bus lines or bus lines that are too long. You need to do several bus lines that are no longer than 5-8 stops at a distance of 1-2 blocks between stops. make the different bus routes overlap so they car switch buses to get to their destination. use subways for longer distances and train lines to go all the way across the city/surround the perimeter of your city.

The industrial areas have heavier traffic, but because the city has no traffic lights(I'm only using the smallest roads and highways) there aren't any jams.
I'm ashamed of the subways. Please excuse them. I'll do better on the next city if I ever revisit the game.
