Headshots are one hit kills to everyone by every gun so you have to be really fucking accurate if you're not playing with a riot shield. If you're playing with a riot shield you'll probably get fucked anyway by C4 so they're kind of lame.
Gameplay consists of waiting for others to come to you or being good enough to be able to go to others without getting fucking killed instantly. There's tons of tacticool gadgets and shit like tripmines, toxic smoke bombs, heart monitors, etc.
It's really nice to be able to speak with your teammates over mic because when you die you still have control over any remaining cameras so you can give them info.

Competitive will be out of beta, we'll get more weapon changes and possibly new maps and weapons.
TF2 will never die because its fanbase has invested money into it and its F2P. Not saying competitive will suddenly boost its numbers but it will have an impact.

You know, it's really insane how DOTA 2 and Global Offensive are such gigantic beasts in comparison to everything else on Steam.
Like, TF2 tends to be in 3rd place most of the time but even then there's a ginormous gap between it and CS/DOTA. Those two games are literally the unstoppable king and queen of Steam and nothing can compare to them, not even the games directly below them like TF2, Civ V and ARK.

valve probably want it to die off by now, so that they can release something new, without having a bloated relevant catalogue, but because the gameplay is still good: I mean it's overwatch but not shit. and blizzard with thier huge advertising it's just continuing to feed players into TF2. it sucks because if overwatch was not shit, it would've killed TF2, then valve would be compelled to push one of their projects to a release.
