I think its a miracle how good this turned out to be considering how much out of touch Modern Nintendo is.
>>
I think it looks fun. Which is all that matters to me. I still want to know more about it, but I'm definitely thinking of buying a cheap Wii U.
>>
>>341979079
it looks fun
>>
>>341979079
I'm genuinely excited for it, which is something that more or less never happens these days. If this turns out to be as good as it looks, I think I can forgive Nintendo for their mistakes these last few years.
>>
Gameplay looks fun but it also risks being a vast landscape full of boring shit like all open world games
>>
>>341979079
I feel like there is still every chance the game may remind me what a blue rupee is.
>>
>>341979079
It seriously looks fucking amazing.
>>
>>341980529
If you're worried about the item description popping up every time you find one, then no. They said it only happens the fist time.
>>
>>341979079
is not that bad, but enemies look too cartoonish as well most of their animations

Also hate blur and excesive lightning everywere it makes my eyes burn
>>
It seems like the game pauses whenever you open the inventory, or go to switch your weapons and bow. I hope they take that out. I love how SS didn't pause when you opened your inventories. Right now it's nearly impossible to die since you can just pause it and eat. It needs to be active and have a small cooldown or at lesdt an animation.
>>
>>341980789
Maybe that should be the "hard mode" of the game instead of just upping the damage taken.

I'm almost certain Treehouse actually said that wouldn't happen.
>>
>>341980946
Like, 8 times.
>>
>>341980789
I feel like it would be better if time only slowed a bit when you were in the inventory instead of stopping completely.

With that heft it's definitely a sword Link can only stab with

>I love how SS didn't pause when you opened your inventories.

Agreed. Having to heal in 'real time' was one of the better things the game did. It was quite well thought out like that.

I don't really know what you mean by it looking 'good'. Looks like WW with TP gameplay and far less to do. Gameplay and combat still devolves to literally mash A to win, 0 challenge. It's going to get the WW treatment and have like 4 dungeons and 2 towns.

Very excited for this game. This will be the first open world game in years that is actually done right
>>
Looks fun but sweet fuck I hope area beyond the Plateau have at least some kind of overworld music. It doesnt even need to be standard overworld stuff, just more than the occasional 3 or 4 piano keys once every 5 minutes.
>>
So what instrument is Link playing in this one?
>>
>>341979079
I've never seen a game from a franchise that went a little astray come back so monumentally in the right direction before.

I'm genuinely not shitposting, I've never seen a game in my life that's doing so much right. And I am in a little bit of shock and disbelief that it's coming from modern Nintendo...

I wanted to believe but I was genuinely worried they would fuck it up. They didn't. I'm really happy and content and I can't wait to play. I'm smitten.

looks really fun with all that attention to details but I really hope for more shit to do on the way of dungeon or villages and better graphics.

NX will be sold out for weeks, if not months.
>>
>>341982678
Maybe it was an exclusive, sure.
>>
So will this be playable with the gamepad on the NX?

I've gotten to really like the gamepad and it seems like it'll be good for item management and looking at the map. Plus it's the limited edition one that came in the Wind Waker bundle so playing a Zelda game with it feels right.
>>
Looking to play some earlier Zelda games to get in the mood for this.

Can Dolphin play Skyward Sword without buying any wii hardware yet?
>>
>>341982996

I think the bigger question is why do you want to play skyward sword?

I know right?

Hours of shitty tutorials and hand holding?
Gone.
Now you just get a marker on your map that you can completely ignore.

You can actually die again, very easily in fact, there's that .webm going around of someone taking two and a half hears of damage from their own bomb and another of a player getting one shot by that rock boss.

They're actually bringing back cool ideas from previous games that didn't quite pan out like picking up enemy weapons from WW except now you can actually take them with you.

I'm ready to go on a fucking adventure, it's too bad there's still so much time till release.

I can't wait to see how the boss battles will be. Considering they're rethinking the convention, the "hit the glowing spot with the item you got in the dungeon then mash the sword attack button" strategy is guaranteed to be dead.
>>

>The boss battles
Holy shit. why did i never think about this till now? The bosses are bound to be amazing. Fuck i dont want to buy a modern nintendo console. Hopefully the NX wont be a gimmick shit.

The flyovers are doing a good job of showing this isn't a series of well-painted hallways that balloon around points of interest. But what I want out of action adventure games I want this to feel like an expansive adventure, but most open world games feel like buffers between disjointed content.

Frankly I am concerned with the "100 shrines" and general scope of the open world. Zelda games have, on a historical basis, done a horrible job justifying the existence of their dungeons in-universe. Recently they've just been "Place that has Item you need" in narratives that have grown to 3 hours of cutscenes. 100 hermits tending 100 trials will get pretty damn old fast. I want to hold out hope that 8 of these will be hidden fairy fountains, and maybe one or two hide secret villages, or there's a repeatable gambling minigame, or some of them permit Link to "Break the barrier to the ____ Realm" and make monsters in the game tougher, or some persist beyond their puzzle where the Old Man there will contact Link via magic and ask Link for collectables. I want persistence, I want interconnectivity something the teaser's goat farming teased.

But at the same time I want novelty among the game. I don't want a lost child in every city we have to chase down and bring back. I don't want every one of the 100 persons across every city and village to know one of the locations of the shrines. I want settlements surrounded by dangerous monsters or cursed to have spawns like OOT's Hyrule Field to be the ones desperate about monster attacks, and thus justify being ones to award bounties for Link's tokens taken from powerful monsters. Or to buy (and sell) weapons at a premium because here they're really important there. While more peaceful ones are more apt to have lovesick children ask Link to deliver a love letter for them, but still have room for a fortune teller being plagued by visions of bosses not yet defeated.

But I don't dare to EXPECT this.
>>
>>341984424
Well, Guardians do seem to still be 'hit the glowy eye 2 win', only it seems they can actually fuck you up pretty bad if you make a mistake. Even the rock boss in the demo had a clear weak point, so in that regard I wouldnt be totally optimistic. I just hope you can style on all bosses like in the updraft trickshot webm.
>>
>>341984510
The wii u emulator will be good enough by the time this comes out

Certainly not going to spend $460 to play one game
>>
Link will be evil in this game. The triforce got shuffled and the female voice is Demise.
