If it's a single player game she'll just give up if it's too hard or lower the difficulty (she refuses to play on easy usually).
But if it's a multiplayer game, and especially when myself or somebody else is facing her, she gets really buttmad and goes into a rant about how she sucks at videogames and gives up forever (not really though).

Play a co-op game, be her support. You got a bunch of games that do this, whether it's online games like Tf2 or overwatch where you can be her healer, keeping her alive longer, or games like RE series or Borderlands.

Sounds like she is trying to get attention, or a rise out of you. Maybe try sitting closer to her while she plays, and/or try to keep her calm with words of encouragement while she plays.

Thanks, we played through the Halo games together which she really loved. She likes Borderlands a lot, but she refused to do sidequests which made us pretty underleveled for a lot of the bossfights and I ended up quitting because honestly, I grew to hate Borderlands. If we're to play co-op it has to be splitscreen because she doesn't have any consoles or a computer that can run anything so that removes a lot of games, especially recent ones.

If there's one thing I learned from marriage dude it's that if your girl sucks at games don't force it on them. I tried everything to get my wife to enjoy vidya like me from co-op to single player but she gets frustrated and just flat out pissed like as if I'm judging her or something for being bad when I'm not.

Me and myexalso played video games together, but she was so shit a videogames she literally couldn't play anything but Turn Based JRPGs, mainly Pokemon and the SMT series, or action games that literally played themselves like Kingdom Hearts.

Play resistance 1/2, the gameplay was solid with coop campaign. If you emulate, you could try ico and get a completed save file for 2 player mode although you lose out of the waifu ai experience which blew my mind at the time. Portal 2, its hard to lose at puzzle games.
