So I noticed something strange in the phone room, someone's probably picked up on it before but:
On the broken wall on the phone side, there's a blackness which you'd assume is just the dark, however if you move to the other side of the room it seemingly unloads and the texture turns to the cream of the rest of the wall which implies it's actually an object. Not sure what to actually make of it though

2 possible clues-
1. The game says something about memories being very important and hiding the truth to reality. Like the lock pick, there might be some other overlooked stuff in the memory sequence.
2. The teaser is called The Beginning Hour. Might have to wait around for an hour for some shit.

Resident Evil 1 and 2 could be scary on your first playthrough because you didn't know who would live and who would die in the game since they had new casts of characters for both. They should have kept that concept so that the horror could stay fresh (With cameos from past characters here and there) but they ruined that with Jill in RE3. Once you bring in characters that have already experienced the horror in the past, they stop being scared. And when they are not scared, it's hard for you to get scared. That's why the games started shifting to action.
RE1 in particular did this well with being able to save some of the other cast members if you did things right. I hope they bring that concept back for RE7. Maybe also add the 'pick one of two characters' thing too, just to add some replay value.

I am wary of making it first person, but I'm willing to see how it looks with combat and such before judging. They seem pretty dedicated to making this game legit scary, so I hope they stick to it.

RE1 was, though. It had pretty heavy atmosphere and the fixed camera really was putting you on the edge when you go into empty hallway and start to hear "click click click" of these fucking dogs or the gnarling of a Hunter.
Dunno how about you, but exploring mansionwith Jill, her shitty 9mm pucker with limited ammo was pretty memorable and intense to me. I miss that time.
Compare it to the streamlined sooting with power-house Leon, who was stocked up on every possible weapon type and ammo from the merchant. There was no horror elements. It was just generic TPS shooter progression.
