The Yakuza/Like a Dragon series is a series that gets installments because of their fans. The games are made for their fans, you're awarded for keeping up with the series, and there are references and call backs that only fans will get. Not to say you had to be playing since Yakuza 1 because I picked up Yakuza 4 from a Wal-Mart bargain bin on a whim and it hooked me into the entire series like some sort of experimental MDMA.
I can understand how someone may not enjoy the series because it's a game that requires a good amount of commitment to enter. But with that being said you have to understand that people who follow IGN are literally the lowest of the low garbage eaters of the industry.
These fucks praise Battlefield 1 and condemn Infinite Warfare for being samey while Battlefield 1 is essentially just a fucking mod for battlefield 4.

As someone whose played through yakuza games from 1 to zero you're dead fucking wrong. Zero is the most polished the yakuza fighting engine has ever been. It's a leap from 5 comparable from the leap from 1 to 2.
