I only discovered Easy Allies over the last three or so days, not much of a Youtuber person, but I'm pleased to see some people who actually know their vidya. Ben's weeaboo tastes resonate particularly well with me.
Ben is the cringiest person on EZA. Too try-hard. Usually skip when he's talking.

>Not Damiani
Why is it fair that Huber's dreams come true at E3 yet no one else's does?
I love Japan, period.
>>341897421

I think they're more journalists than youtubers.
>>341898371

Ex-journalists having a good time. Their "content" is mostly them talking about games and throwing opinions at each other. It's pretty entertaining.

I only care about bossman. His Bahaman joke was gold.
When did that second Zelda discussion happen? I thought during day 2 they said it would be on the day 3 discussion, but it's not in the video.

Funny thing is. Brad is probably more into anime than Ben is. He just hides his power level well.
>>341899131

I've gotta say, not a fan of the Damiani either.
Before he joined them I watched everything they were doing, now I find myself skipping over some stuff.

he is a gt veteran though and is very much needed for all off camera work.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xFWetixa1g Huber is amazing
>>341901220
I'm aware, and i'm not doubting his technical skill. Technical quality of the streams and such has definately improved with him being there.
>>341901567
That story, their reaction to RE7 and this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4eO1IOFvGc are by far the highlights of the EZA E3 stuff to me.
Ben's pissing me off in all these E3 streams. He's forcing himself to act as hyped as Huber.
>>341897618
Frame Trap is hard to listen to. He just gushes over every little thing.
>>341902561
I really doubt it's intentional. He's pretty impressionable, spending so much time around Huber is rubbing off on him. For better or worse in your opinion, I guess.

honestly - we need more people like them in games media - not creepy pseudo enthusiasm but earnest love for games - so happy to see these guys do well - watching the e3 conferences with them was a blast and their re-caps have been a delight

Pretty annoyed how they hold jrpgs as some superior genre to others desu.
>>341917743
It's refreshing, in my opinion, since most outlets just outright ignore them or say JRPGs are inferior to all other genres. They just like japanese games for what they are.
>>341917737
Why can't I love video games as much as Hubner? He has the optimism of a child, how did he not lose it?
>>341916583

>>341917737
Not gonna lie the idea of VR Road Trip sounds way better to me than the average VR "experience" I see posted around.
>>341917865
The GT / Easy Allies folks actually made me a bit more excited for games again. It was nice to see that they actually do enjoy hanging out together and didn't lose the optimism even after they were all fired from Gametrailers.
I remember Huber started streaming on his own private channel a week after getting fired, still excited for games, still happy. He invited Kyle, Ben and Ian to play Street Fighter V with him at his place and streamed it. It was great.
>>341917743
They like all genres. Its just there's a lot of JRPGs coming out at the moment.

People are way too rough on Blood. His little black book with dozens of connections throughout the industry and behind the screens skillset is invaluable.
Plus, in a channel all about being jolly and loving all vidya, SOMEONE needs to cover racing games.
I was one of the people pretending CDPR for Gwent standalone so hearing Blood gush about it was rad.
I NEED a webm of Huber almost falling over the background when the RE 7 logo appeared on screen during the Sony E3 press conference.

Defy is super scummy.
Buy out the company, don't let them post on YT for years so they get left behind, then when they finally start getting views because of the new crew they burn it all down.

>Think of the weekend. Everybody loves weekends. The strange thing about weekends is that only half of it is the weekend. Sunday is a week beginning, but we rarely think of it that way. After all, why would we start our week off with the best part? What would we have to look forward to?

Not saying they're shit at playing, just that they may be rusty. You can dance all around that boss no problem.
They can think what they want of course, I just think XV is in people's heads. Everyone has convinced themselves it'll be the best thing ever or the next Duke Nukem Forever.
Once they play through it all in one go I think they'll like it more due to them being acclimated to the game. Damiani especially.

>>341927758
Why is there this sort of war between P5 and FFXV. Is it because the Japanese release date for P5 is close to the WW release of FFXV? If so it doesn't even make any sense for people in the west to act like this.
>>341927912

>>341928189
The same reason there's a war between consoles. Because people are stupid and think if you like one thing you can't like another thing unless it's made by that same company. The stupid P5 vs FFXV shit has been going on since before their release dates were announced.

No idea, but I think it has to do with fan fare. FFXV has to prove itself either to old fans and to new fans and while its audience is gigantic, you can sense that if they don't attract enough mainstream market the series may be on the chopping block, as weird as that sound.
Meanwhile Persona 5 has almost all its fans hyped up, every time something about the game is leaked or released everyone is hyped (with the exception of Atlus US not releasing the game with dual audio), while the fanbase of the Persona series is a lot times smaller than a Final Fantasy game, FF is coming from the trilogy of one of the worse received FF games ever meanwhile Persona 5 has been reaping nothing but praise. So fanboys see this and take completely defensive positions like most FFXV have been taking the last few months.
I love JRPs but I will get Persona 5 before FFXV mostly because I think Persona 5 is a more secure investment in entertainment.
>>341920470

Whats funny is that Final Fantasy XV will sell a lot, i mean A LOT. more then what it deserves. People outside of gaming forums are going there Day 1.
Fully expect to sell 6 million by the end of the year. While P5 will pretty much break 3 million in its lifetime. Because people can't get it through their heads that it is, by the end of the day, an anime game.

And since it's obvious XV is unfinished, it might be better to wait for the inevitable patchs the game is going to get.
I'm one of those idiots who waited XV for 10 years, but I'm just gonna import and play Personna 5 first.

>>341929119
I think Huber but I might be wrong.
I hope I am. Bosman streaming zelda wouldn't be nearly as fun as a weird-ass puppet show
>>341929354
3 million for P5 is being generous already, P4G is the most popular Persona game and that didn't break one million LTD (or possibly just barely did it).
>>341929354
I think Ben might have said this on stream somewhere, and it's something I agree with. The success of JRPGs in the west rest on the laurels of FFXV. If FFXV is bad, it makes all JRPGS look bad to the public. No matter how good Persona is, it doesn't have the same weight as a Final Fantasy.
>>341929605

Where? I don't see it
>>341929354
If Persona 5 sells more that 1M WW in its lifetime it would be a freaking miracle. Not that it looks like a bad game (for the contrary, every time I see something of P5 I count the seconds until my JP preorder gets shipped) but the game still is a niche anime game. I doubt they are going to sell more that what P4G did.
If anything Atlus US should release P4G on PS4 to prepare the west and JRP fans on it to get P5. Any comparision sales wise between FFXV and P5 is completely retarded they are on different leagues. But the fanfare is sooooo different, FFXV is like the Hollywood blockbuster/Oscar bait JRPG equivalent, while Persona 5 is like the product that doesn't care what the mass market thinks of it, it will please its fans and then don't give a shit about the rest, even if that means that they will never be mainstream.
>>341929957
She meant the IGN video that has PV01.
>>341929354
3 million is too much.
I expect 300k on launch week in Japan with maybe 350k shipped, then the reprints will get the total up to 500k.
For the west its kind of a mixed bag, probably similar numbers so after its release in the west, Atlus will make an announcement that P5 broke 1m worldwide

>>341930015
I think it will sell better than P4G. I think it's going to do better in the West. Universally positive press reception, along with PS4 > Vita in the West. I feel like P3 and P4 laid the groundwork by creating an up swelling of goodwill, and now P5 will reap the benefit. I doubt it hits 3 mil though, I think 2 mil is probably more like it.

Even after all that Ben was giving it the benefit of the doubt so I'm not sure why you are so assblasted. Sounds like you watched one part of the conversation and got triggered.

To be fair, vikings also weren't immortal beings in a magical realm fighting samurai and medieval knights for thousands of years.

It's impossible to be anything below great. I mean if you HATE open world games, I can see how you can be worried, but I don't know why you'd care about the game to begin with. It's going to be spectacular. I have no doubts.

An HD remake with MUCH improved gameplay. I'm on the Velvet playthrough now. Do yourself a favor and play on Hard mode. The game is easy most of the time even on hard, only a few challenge rooms pose a notable challenge.

I have low expectations. I didn't like the gameplay in the demo. All those years ago when it was seemingly much more KHesque the combat looked so much better. As it is I'd rather it be FFXII style than what we have now.

Sophie is great, the best thing about EZA over GT.

Games that look good in isolated chunks might not work as well over the entire playtime. Especially open world games, which fall apart in development very easily.

It's cool to hate on XV now. All the kids are doing it.
>>341931539
FF is a JRPG I have not a lot of interest in the "combat" at all. The best FF for me were interesting because of their characters and story. I would rather the game be turn based and nothing of this combat (I would rather play DMC or Bayonetta for quick action combat games) and listen about the story of the game and how I could be engaged in the story.
That is why I am getting P5 first. P5 seems to be focusing on improving shit I actually want them to improve instead of focusing on shit I don't give a fuck about.
>>341931539
I'm not saying its gonna be bad or anything. I just thought the demo was weak. I actually think the more action focused combat is pretty cool, and the whole road trip thing is interesting as well.
>>341901567
Motherfucking Huber can sell you EVERY game he touches once
The demos I tried were fine. I thought it felt like kingdom hearts minus the Disney stuff. If you were bad at KH, there are a few fights in that series that would probably look almost as messy as that Xbox conference footage.
I'm not really excited for the game but I'm willing to give it a try.

Frametrap E3 edition. Brad started the talk.
Any lawyer /a/nons here?
What process would entail for EZA to acquire the rights to the names of their previous shows? It makes no sense for Defy/IGN to keep "The Final Bosman" and "Huber Hype", so those properties are completely worthless to them. I mean, how much would it cost? Is it possible for them to get it for free?
Just curious.
>>341932958

Even Kotaku, Polygon, and Giant Bomb are still around. I'm pretty sure Feminist Frequency makes more money than GT.

I'm convinced that deep, deep down Ian is actually a really cool guy.
He has pretty good taste in vidya and he really knows film and music as well.
Once the SJW shit goes out of fashion, or he outgrows this phase it'll be a lot better.
Despite all the nonsense he spouts every once in a while he'll say something really insightful or funny.
I'm pulling for him.
The day he cuts that fucking hair differently will be begging of his unjustening. Mark my words
>>341934251
People don't hate IGN, at least not the mainstream. /v/ and "hardcore" forums aren't the mainstream at all. Otherwise Nintendo games and AAA PC games would be far more popular.
>>341933684
From my understanding, all the work GT did while under Defy was technically owned by Defy. So when IGN got the rights to GT library as well the GameTrailers name, IGN now owns all videos of "The Final Bosman" and "Huber Hype", or at least the ones made while under Defy's reign. Does that mean IGN owns the names "The Final Bosman" and "Huber Hype"? I'm unfamiliar with copyright law.
EZA have great podcasts compared to most. Because they are structured and aren't just "let's mindlessly talk AND talk over each other"

>>341934782
I don't think it's obnoxious to only want to play a game for one character at all. I mean I'll tell you right now the only reason Overwatch was on my radar at all was because I tried the open beta and I saw it had a character straight outta Jet Set Radio in itthough the more I played it the more I realized I liked using Junkrat and Dva way, way more
>>341934631
They have the same exact shows now but under different names. What do you think?
Funhaus uploaded a Don't Starve video.

She started doing Spervince's voice while playing.

She's made some great jokes.

>>341934496
He's a tool, but he's not a big tool like a skill saw. He's more like a screwdriver.
>>341935141
And this baffles me.
I asked /v/ whether Overwatch had a chance to be ultra popular after a GT Live around February 2015 and everyone universally shitted on the game saying it looked generic as shit like a Blizzard TF2. Now everyone's playing it and there's threads everywhere on the catalogue here. It actually pisses me off, and I couldn't give less a shit about the game. I just get overwhelmingly angry when people harshly change their opinions at the flip of a switch like a "meme."
Hi Ben

I'd be bummed if there was no more Discount Gaming

No, Ben has stated before (I think it was in one of the monthly Q&A videos) that he's full-time.
>>341936380
Split between the 9 of them, the sub40k they have right now could give each of them like 50k a year. That's definitely enough to pay for rent and groceries. They don't pay for vidya since they'll be getting that shit for free thanks to Blood's connections.
Not to mention stream revenue and youtube bux.
>>341922781
Ian really needs to chop off his hair, it looks fucking disgusting
>>341935935
/v/ is anti-jolly. Huber would despise it.
To be honest I'm starting to really hate it as well now that GT/EZA has influenced my outlook on video games.
There's the kind of hate I used to feel, then someone would say 'you'll be back next week' and they'd be right. At this point I'm just numb to it though.
People aren't even funny or witty with shitposts anymore. I've been gone for like 2 months, checked back in to see if E3 temporarily warmed the place up a bit and people are more pissy than ever.
Awful.
>>341936114
I think Jones, Damiani and Ben are all full time. The rest are part time, if they reach $45K on Patron others will work full time as well.
>>341936380
If the split is even, they all make almost 4k a month? Maybe 3.5k?
That's pretty decent money.
>>341936303
Kyle doesn't even have a show on their unless you count the podcast. I really think EZA would get more views and shit if Bosman at Home or whatever was on EZA.
He shoulda made a deal with them to "license" it to EZA or whatever so he couldn't lose it like Final Bosman.
>>341936620
>To be honest I'm starting to really hate it as well now that GT/EZA has influenced my outlook on video games.

The podcast is Kyle's show. He opted for being the moderator of that than reviving his own show. EZA also knows that Bosman is one of their stars since his own shows views nearly shit on all the views in the EZA channel. I think he also has more streams than anybody else. I'm not too sure about this though,

Honestly, I don't think they can get above 40k.

>>341937140
I love Kyle but it's kind of selfish.
At least concerning EZA.
Bosman At Home could potentially help the channel take off and become THE show like Final Bosman was to GT.
>>341937014
Hellboy effect?
>>341937218
I remember the first thread that happen and people liked him but the number of his show dropped a lot with time. From 150K or so to less than 40K and then 20K though most of that was GT basically dying a slow dead as well.
I remember people liking him for his "dumb rich people are ruining videogames".
>>341937140
It probably stresses him out. He also already covered a shitload of topics with TFB that it'd be hard to make new material for Bosman@Home.

I don't know man, I actually didn't know about him until I saw a thread on /v/ about him. Then a few months later, GT went down.
>>341937397
You're gonna have to explain that term.
>>341937381
I don't think it's selfishness but rather anxiety about his show dragging EZA down. Unfounded anxiety but anxiety nonetheless.
>>341937776
>You're gonna have to explain that term.
Nobody talks about good things. Or good things can't really generate discussion because it ends up being something like
>I enjoyed thing.
>I also enjoyed thing.
>Ok.
>>341937381
I don't like that. Kyle probably doesn't want that either. The Final Bosman is a hard act to follow. And the show was built on "no expectations". If he were to make a "sequel" there's a lot of pressure to make it better than the "original", and I don't think that Kyle has the will to do that. Bosman at Home is a compromise, and it's understandably not as high production valued as his previous show, and I believe that's what he wants that particular show to be.
>>341937912
Not inaccurate. I'm pretty sure the only reason this thread hit autosage is because a persona/FFXV argument sprouted up.
>>341937776
On /co/, nobody ever discusses Hellboy, because it's universally loved or at least acknowledged as good so there is not much to talk about. You can only say "yeah I really liked that" so often.

>>341938003

Yeah pretty much, Ben and Damiani not liking that FF XV demo turned to be a big poison for this threads. If they ended up being right and FF XV turns out to be mediocre this shit will explode even worse every single EZA thread.
>>341938235
Pretty sure Kyle has depression and can't see that people just want to see him talk about vidya, and nobody really has expectations of him other than "be real". But you know, whatever. The podcast+Bosman@Home is good enough.
