It isnt a bad genre, but i really have no idea how did it went from a niche genre to one of the most played genres ever.
I was into it during the very "moba rising" of 2008-2009, where both big names were HoN with icefrog, and LoL with Guinsoo.
Both would reach peaks of 200k on 2010.
Then HoN fucked up ROYAL, everyone went to LoL and kept growing, icefrog went to valve, valve hyped the genre as much as they could, and the multi million dollars tournament kickstarted all the esports scene.
