Also Namco has a terrible DLC model, I fucking hate that they lock all the costumes behind paywalls, I miss the asinine side-quest requirements to get costumes, like Guy's fucking quest with the two lovers on opposite sides in TotA or whatever.

You still get unlockable costumes now, for the last few games they've been making compromises between having DLC costumes and unlockable costumes. We've already seen Velvet in different costumes in trailer and those will most likely be unlockables since costumes that appear in cutscenes are normally unlockable through gameplay.

While true, Graces at least had outfits for every character in-game you could get. Xillia only had costumes for three of the six party members you could get in-game and locked staples like swimsuits and formal outfits behind DLC.

There are some free outfits in the past. Not many.
