What makes MGS great is the same thing that makes the Soulsborne games great; that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. It's the attention to detail and the way they draw you in that makes them something more than other games.
MGSV had great core gameplay, but everything else was so rushed and superficial that it never really came together as a whole.

The original MGS is dated and clunky as fuck. Coming from someone who played the game a dozen times back in 1998, I tried it a couple years ago and it was just a drag.
Twin Snakes fixes the control/camera issues, but ruins everything else.

No it doesn't. Snake is so twitchy, and the way the directional buttons work when you're leaning against walls messes you up quite a bit.
On top of that, you have no camera control whatsoever, which means you need to go into first person view like every five seconds just to look around.
Also the story is just retarded. MGS2 and 3 are best.
