Early alerts were so much more fun. There was so much less content, and rare drop rates were so lower, that getting a nice haul was exciting.
Shit, everything about the game was better then. Frame and weapon balance was (marginally) better, the story wasn't retarded yet, the late game planets had a more mysterious feel, damage 1.0 wasn't a chore to figure out, channeling idiocy wasn't implemented yet and we had zorencoptering.
