For something that isn't chink shit, mechanical keyboards start at around $60 and then you need to buy a mouse, so you're already spending more than a console controller. They made a few other adjustments. Like the top part around the home button is no longer shiny plastic that scratches easily and it has bluetooth now. And they might have made more minor adjustments too, like the mechanisms for the buttons/triggers as well, we just don't know yet. The only thing remotely difficult is changing the dpad. There's some weird circular spring thing that goes on top of it, and the dpad itself has to go in a certain way otherwise its not gonna work properly (just remember which way the old dpad was when you take it out)
The only thing that you can really fuck up at this point is if you let the rumblers swing around and the wires snap off
Surprisingly the sticks and the dpad are the only easy parts to replace, everything else is actually really difficult.
