The most comon problem with drifting in racing games is how the wheel react to the analog stick.
Lets say you have a turn to the left.
Most games will adapt the steering angle to the best point for that turn.
So, a regular car with 35° of steering angle will be choped to like 13° so, in the full the analog axis, the max will be 13° for that turn if you turn your stick to the left, but....
if you turn the stick to the right, it will have all 35° of steering in the right part of the steering axis. so the countersteering will be much harder than the actual cornering.
This is what makes most of the games very hard to drift with a Dpad. with a FF wheel, its like a real car, using the nordic trick (scandinavian rally technique) or the handbrake or the power of the car.
SO, when you have to drift to a left turn, first go right then go left and learn how to avoid as much countersteer as possible, but if needed, release the gas a little and push very gently the stick to the outside, and also for very short periods of time, like the old days playing racing games with the keyboard, turning was like that.
