Blizzard killed this game, I’ve put quite a few ours into the game, I play with my wife splitscreen (something you do not see often). But Blizzard has had it out for Battleborn since it conception(when both games are only about 20% similar), they released their open beta on the release date of Battleborn. Blizzard also most likely spent more on promoting the game then the total cost of developing Battleborn. The Game is not perfect but its much better then it gets credit for and other games have been horribly chastised for less. Blizzard directly targeting the game is why is it doing badly.

Ex-Battleborn fan here. The game is flawed but enjoyable. However, the microtransaction bullshit made me uninstall it. What gets lost is just how bad it is:
1. Gearbox tried to sneak the news in during E3 hoping most sites would be too busy with the actual event which is slightly shady.
2. The skins are just recolors, many of which were in the game and on disk since the beta. They also cost $5 each which is overpriced and definitely shady.
3. Gearbox adds the cash shop during a time when the game is on life support alienating its already small player base which is beyond retarded and makes people think they're trying to wring as much money out of the few loyalists left.
4. Gearbox justifies the cash shop with an interview given months ago that there will be paid content after launch. Players reasonably believed they meant the season pass as what's the fucking point of buying a season pass if you don't get all the DLC? Not only that, they tried to justify it by saying they need the cash shop to fund after launch support for patches, maps, new characters, and to keep the servers up. They promised to do this shit for free since day one. This is black hole shady as fuck.
So in the end, you have a full price $60 game with $20 season pass and now microtransactions for shit they already promised for free. I am never buying another Gearbox game again. Fuck them.

Maybe interactions isn't the best way to put it, but there's a lack of relation in their interactions. You don't particularly get that one character has much to do with the other. Plus Overwatch's are a back and forth aswell, which adds a bit.

i think the real reason why BB tanked is because nothing in the game feels like it has any impact.
Everything is a bulletsponge, your enemies, the NPCs, youself.
Killing somebody or getting killed is always tedious, nothing feels like a risk and nothing feels rewarding.
At the end of most matches you keep wondering why you lost/won because the game fails to give you a feeling how good/bad you were doing.
The PvE suffers the same problem, everything feels tedious and without consequences and in a system where you have to do them over and over again this becomes fucking horrible.
And than matches that are around 40 minutes - let's say you can win/lose 8 times in overwatch before seeing 1 win/lose screen in BB and at that point your reaction is mostly "....well i have no idea and i don't care anymore"

I played a bit of MvM in TF2 back when it was released and it felt bland, like shooting fish in a barrel.
Why would you even do it? You can't build weapons and armor in OW. The only thing i can think of is an alternative way to get the skins? with drops from the robots or something.
What's for certain is that the story/lore/whatever is there to allow for this. So maybe if they find a way to implement it in a non hamfisted way with proper motivators to participate i don't see why not.

Yes, the game has a population problem but still enough to get a game. It takes me in the US from 2-15 minutes but sometimes longer. The shitty matchmaking is driving away the few players left. Let me explain:
1. To join a match, the system searches the queue for 4 other teammates. After they're found, it looks for 5 other players to match you up with as opponents. If any one player leaves during this time, everyone goes back into the queue and has to start all over again.
2. There's no replacement for players who leave during a match. If someone disconnects or goes afk, you're out of luck. You can surrender but then you get literally no credit for it (credits are used to buy loot packs and characters although they can't be used to buy the platinum cosmetics) or you stick it out and lose. When you lose a match, you barely get any credits - the winning team gets the bulk of it. So you're left with either surrendering and going back to queue hell or slugging through another 15-25 minutes for 50-100 credits (to unlock a new character you need 47,500 credits).
This has to be the worst match making in a major game since the GameSpy days.
