Nier looks better, but I don't think scalebound will be bad. Scalebound is definitely not a typical hack and slash platinum game, there's co op, a decent variety of weapons (we see sword+shield, polearm, and giant two handed sword). Also, the damage numbers and huge co op bosses seem more like something from a more loot based game, which would explain the weapon variety.

There are no shown rp mechanics in Nier 2
Can someone explain Nier's plot or setting? It looks really nice and the gameplay looks pretty fun (pcuck so I've only played Transformers and MGR), this, ace combat and kojimbles new game will probably make me buy a ps4 now, whilst I still get all the xbone exclusives for my pc.

Judging by the trailers and footage, Nier has been more appealing.
Going by the trust I have in each director I'm leaning more towards Scalebound. I've played Nier, and while I found it enjoyable under many aspects I have some serious issues with the writing and the general design.

There is no utilization of the environment, everyting is just static and takes place in a linear corridor. What is the point of playing it if there's no multiplayer or leaderboards or scores?
