After PM64, they were already running out of clever ideas.
Because they correctly predicted that Nintendrones would treat it as a flawless masterpiece when half the game is backtracking.

Length I guess, same reason any game has padding.
Yep, the original > TTYD for sure.
I feel like TTYD had pretty good side content, though. Beating the Pit of 100 trials as a kid was something else.
PM > SS > TTYD > SPM.
