Average as fuck. Average combat, average lore, average setting, average RPG elements.

I like it.

This. Wasn't bad. Just unremarkable.
>>

It was fun while it lasted - unfortunately I got caught up in other games. I like how you can take a bit more control in your development. I ended up being a sort of spellsword. I couldn't decide if I wanted to stick with a 1h or 2h sword. Teleporting instead of combat rolling was nice.
>>
I want to fuck Alyn.
I also liked the two big dlc.

Single-player MMO.

i have it installed, going to dump some time into it eventually. if i don't like it 5 hours in, i'll just uninstall and never touch it again.

Why does this game keep getting brough it? If it's just because of the controversy surrounding it Too Human would be a much better candidate.

Feels like single player wow, in the best way possible.

God tier OST, not the type of soundtrack you could listen to on its own but it suited the world and the atmosphere perfectly.
I enjoyed it, its far from an amazing game but its fun and a good time sink.

>>
>>341633848
Basically this. It actually had a lot of diversity level wise. You had a
>Forest
>Swamp
>Desert
>Weird Snow/Crystal area
>2 big cities
And there was some decent lore, alright combat, and what not. Yet it still managed to be so boring despite that. The DLCs were the exact same. Solid but not really amazing.

I felt the same way. I put in about 20 hours or so and haven't touched it since
>>
I bought it late last year for about $10. It's okay. It's definitely something you can fuck around in during a snowstorm or something.
>>
>>341636372
Ironically, I think the game would've been better if you started out with simple slashes and unlocked combos as you leveled. Otherwise, it becomes a hack and slash game.
>>
>>341637430
Eh, sort of. It's hard to estimate how many side quests I missed and how many I didn't.
>>
It has an air of genericness about it but otherwise its pretty good.

What it lacks the most is marketeting
>>
I found this game fun. I treated it like a singleplayer action rpg. It had great atmophere and environments. the combat could have been better and more varied but the game did let you play around. It was like fable meets diablo but I liked the world they created

Very adequate.
>>
>>341637310
>game was good, solid 8/10
You sum up the venerability of its components yet don´t seem to account for the fact that each game is more than the sum of its parts, no matter how choice they are.
It simply does not click for most people, and at no point does it become remarkable on its own in any respect.
It has really no distiguishing features other than it is thouroughly not bad from start to finish, but nothing more than that.
>>
Single player MMO: the Video Game.
>>
Combat was actually good. The enemy variety was also okay. But what you do to complete those line of quests are so boring and this includes the main story line. Don't get me started about the faction quests it was Skyrim tier in a way that the guild leader has just gone belly up and left it all to you, a complete stranger. I also haven't experienced a world to explore so interesting and barren at the same time. There was no interaction to any of it just eye candy.

They also butchered the final boss which is not only interesting it also had the potential of being good if only she was as threatening as she looks.

It was a good game. The world was beautiful, the soundtrack was good, and the combat system was great.
The only thing wrong with this game are the quests. They're all identical. I was playing it a a year ago and finished all the faction quests and the main questline. Then I decided to do the side quests and after doing 50 of them I got so fucking sick of the game that I quit playing it.

The idea of killing fate with the fate ripped out of fate is funny.

The high fantasy aesthetic was really refreshing in the washed out, "muh realism" saturating 2012.

Had it been a little more concise, with a little more polish and depth to the non-combat gameplay, I would have loved it. As it is, I just recall it fondly.

Wasn't there some kind of upgrading/crafting system in this game? I remember you would do something like get a certain quality blade and combine it with a certain quality hilt, and it would take ages if you wanted to completely max your equipment out with the highest stats possible. I mean you're overpowered anyway but I remember watching some autist on YouTube trying to max it out.

I think you had to grind for ages getting random drops and the salvaging the weapons/armour for individual parts.

+ good hybrid classes
+ fast combat
+ colorful, well designed world

+(-) diablo loot
+ voice acting

- too easy
- combat is improvable
- no mounts
- generic
- broken balance

If you want to know about pure classes:
Thief is fucked because no damage no nothing after few levels
Mage is just get explosion maxed and span that shit all day even on hardest difficulty and oneshot everythign like it's easiest mode
Warrior starts getting fun after some levels whare you have all the skills unlocked for mad combos

And here's a trailer for the mmo that never released.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZrdq6gnaMs

The entire point of Reckoning's story was to set up the MMO, by having the player break the chain of Fate and allow people to do whatever the fuck they want instead of having predetermined lives, hence the mmo aspect.

It had the basics for everything but it didn't do anything spectacularly right.
The world was beautiful but the dungeons were all the same.
Combat was fun but missed something I can't pzt my finger on.
Magic made you feel incredible but the lack of spells was shit.
Stealth was functioning but easily exploitable.
The lore and story was meh.
Quests were boring.
Lorestones actually made me give a shit about collectibles.
The fateless gimmick was well done in character progression but barely integrated into the main story.
And all the budget went to the last boss to make him look great but play like shit.

The only thing memorable about this game for me is the ending to the House Of Sorrows questline. Such a strong twist. I remember the dialogue with this guy in particular.

I played it for about 30 hours when it first came out, got exponentially more bored with it over time and dropped it around the time I finished the desert area.

Tried to play it again recently and it ctd'd before I got out of the tutorial area. Didn't care after that.

>Combat was fun but missed something I can't pzt my finger on.
May be just me but I feel like main problem was not enough skills/apells as well as everything having quite a delay that was really anoying unlike in games like .Hack

Also
>Stealth was functioning
Except for sleeping enemies

Generally I think that everything about the story/setting involving fate was interesting, how it was easily read and 100% accurate in all cases except as it applied to you. Whenever the story is revolving around that it was fun, like how the elves couldn't do anything except cosplay the past and how you occasionally ran across people who were objectively certain that their house was going to burn down until you walked through it and mucked everything up. If the story and all the quests had stuck around exploring that idea it could have been really interesting, but the game was so preoccupied with being the Next Big Thing that all the interesting bits were mixed in with the standard fantasty fuckabout.

I liked it, but for an open-world Skyrim-esque game it somehow felt empty.

I liked the combat though, and appreciated how colorful it was.
>>
I can't believe they didn't see the problem at concept stage

>we'll create a really really long rpg
>but have action combat that can be mastered in seconds
>>
>>341656642
its not the action but they decided to level lock areas to level where you first visited them so there was really no challenge.
