Lucky, I wish I could play it for the first time again. Just force yourself through the tutorial, once you get to the truly free open world part, it's so much fun, and it really does make you feel like you're sailing around the ocean (which is huge in this game) in a pirate ship doing whatever you want. Haven't played it since last year but there's probably a tutorial or a mission you're supposed to go to. The missions in the game play like a 20 hour tutorial, so usually if you don't know what or how to do something, you just need to do the next story mission.
Also YouTube should help, look up videos of how to properly sail or something.

The sea wasn't big enough in Rogue. Especially the Riverlands are a joke - you have to take hard turns every 10 seconds to not collide with the shoreline, it's very tedious. North Atlantic is ok though.
