Not than anon, but I (along with a bunch of other people) came to the conclusion that magitech and sci-fi elements were going to be an inevitability years ago. One of the original gameplay elements Miyamoto came up with for the first Zelda was the idea that it would all be a virtual world and that the Triforce was a magical chip whose code could overwrite the "reality" of the denizens.
While that's obviously not canon, the story DNA of that kind of stuff has been present throughout the series. There have been time gates and robots and inter-dimensional portals since the SNES era. Nintendo just started being more open about it over the years, with each major new 3D Zelda featuring more obvious advanced tech than the one previous. I think a lot of people started to catch on after Twilight Princess.

True but that goes for many mainline Nintendo series. For instance first we had mario, then we had mario in space, twice. The designs and levels of technology in the Pokemon games have only increased (the games having been originally made when an electronic pocket encyclopedia was futuristic idea. Now everyone has them, and more). It's more of an overall trend in design than I think something unique to Zelda.

If you've been reading his interviews for a while, then you'll know that Aonuma is crafty little fucker.
Before MM3D, I remember him admitting that they wouldn't do a remake unless if fans requested for it. Then all of the MM3D fan campaigns started happening for it.
Once the trailer for MM3D debuted, he soon admitted that they were always planning a remake from the start, and he just said that to get the Zelda fan community to viral market for the game.

So here is what i have come to understand so far in terms of gameplay
You will start off on the plateau where you meat Old man who basically starts of you off. Much of the gameplay will revolve around the slate which you must fill out before you can get the glider which will allow you to get off the plateau and explore the rest of the game.
This means when you start out in the general adventure you will have Melee weapon, Bow, Bombs, Magnet, Slow magic, Ice block, Amiibos and a glider.
It has been stated that you will be able to go right away and kill the main boss meaning most likely that all dungeons more or less will revolve around being able to do the dungeons with these basic powers, however collectibles and quests may be locked out as will paths in dungeons with their specific items. Possibly It treats the plateau in a tutorial sense, to get all the basic powers.
With that being said what are your thoughts of whats off the plateau. Types of quests? Items? NPCs? More apps for links stone?

I don't think I've seen anyone discuss this yet but from the game play they've shown, there's run down/broken Guardians scattered across the Plateau and a whole bunch of them concentrated inside the Temple of Time. The Plateau also is surrounded by a tall stone wall with the only way to get down is with the glider.
So I'm wondering if they were attacking the Plateau/Temple of Time or defending it?
I'm also curious since this Temple of Time looks similar to the one in Ocarina of Time that we might have time travel that involves this Link to go back in time to when Hyrule fell apart and to find out what really happened and how he ended up inside a "Ressurection Chamber".
