I have literally never heard anyone say that symbolism thing before and cannot find a single reference to that on the internet. It doesn't even look like the lambda symbol at all, it has a straight bottom and the curve at the top is very pronounced, plus the specific way they designed the logo looks nothing like someone holding a crowbar.
Face it, the crowbar in half life was just like all the other fps from the time where the protag just started with some random object they found lying around to use when they didn't have any way to shoot at enemies.
