It's pretty fun to coop and its Mercenaries mode is probably the best in the series. Once you get good with it it can be really fun, clocked around 100 hours in it. It's like a stepping stone between DMC and RE. Solo campaign isn't all that good at all but still has some decent moments sprinkled throughout, though it's extremely scripted and stiff.
Don't believe the people who say it's the worst Resident Evil game, that's ridiculous.

REmake is a must. 4 is still worth experiencing, though if you didn't play it when it was fresh it will not feel as good as it is due to the massive influence it had.
If you enjoy REmake I'd give 0 a shot, though it can be a bit of a bitch at times and its pretty tough. Also check out Code Veronica, Dead Aim and the Outbreak games, often overlooked but still pretty good games, especially Outbreak.
