I don't understand the sentiment that every game deserves to be completed. Like shit, if it was worth your time, you'd already be playing it. Most things just aren't good.

Not every game deserves to be completed. But the way things are now most dedicated game enthusiasts just don't have time to finish everything they want to finish.
We have access to more games now than ever before. Thousands of games are at every person's fingertips for free simply for having a working computer and an internet connection.
People buy up dozens and dozens of games on Steam sales but then don't have time to adequately play them all. And then new games are constantly coming out on top of all this. It can be overwhelming.
Not every game DESERVES to be completed. No one should feel compelled to complete Bubsy 3D. But most people don't have 100 copies of Bubsy waiting for them on Steam. If you don't think a game is worth it then remove it from your backlog. But for most people that still leaves a LOT of games.

That's always a conundrum for these things. You could go with the games that are shortest first.
But if you intend to finish it all then you'd eventually get to the longer ones anyway.
Playing Bionic Commando and then Deus Ex will take the same amount of time as doing the opposite, right?
You could also play two at once. A few hours of a long game, then an hour or so of a shorter game once you start to feel like you're getting sick of the first one.

You haven't completed VtMB? How far are you in? It's absolutely worth finishing it, I like replaying it every once in a while. Make sure you get the unofficial patch, it makes a world of difference.
Also Minerva might not be worth it nowadays, it's as bland as HL itself. It would be cool back in the 2000's.

I agree. For me, it's enough to try the game before marking it as "Finished With". If I like the game I'll play until completion, there's no need to force myself to finish something. This happens the most on GOG where I can get a shit ton of games for almost nothing, and then play each one for 30-60 minutes before getting bored or turned off due to the age.

I am going to try and be productive this summer and decrease the size of my backlog. I managed to play quite a bit last summer. The only problems that i have is adventure games. I only play them when i am in a certain mood and you can hardly play them when you are relaxing and listening to other stuff.

The latest unofficial patch fixes any technical problems and the combat is honestly not that bad. Its great, there's a reason everyone loves it.
