To put it bluntly, Japan VAs can only do six or so types of female character stereotypes. It's virtually indistinguishable from animes and other games, they all sound the same. You either have the airhead, the mature one, the fiery one, the tomboy one, the severely underaged one or a combination of them, always with the same intonation. Male VAs also suffer from that, but not as much.
