Nah, a lot of the original cast are still good. A lot of people say that Saki is in a bit of a tough position though, since her hyper is a trap card that can potentially be avoided by newer characters. For example, Kyoko's barrier will negate Big Bang Bell completely.
Although personally I feel like it's a bit of an exaggeration. Big Bang Bell will still fuck you up.

As much as I like Aru, that's really not a good idea for that map. The Tomomos are going to be almost constantly rolling high against you to the point where the +2 EVD isn't going to help. I beat it by going Starbreaker and out killing them.
