What the fuck have they even been doing with Source 2? They used it to release ONE update for Dota and left it alone. It doesn't help that Dota is the fucking worst Valve """"Game"""", it literally only exists to draw revenue away from Riot. So what do they plan on doing with it? Will they just release the 3rd parts of every trilogy in quick succession, or are they just sitting back and collecting money from dotakiddies who get a hold of a credit card? What are the chances at a TF3, L4D3, HL Ep. 3, or a Couter Strike Source 2?

Half life 3 has been hyped to Astronomical levels. So much that even normies know of the "half life 3 confirmed" meme.
At this point it's impossible to make a game that will reach those stupidly ridiculously high hype levels without falling flat on its face. Even of its good, it won't be "I'm so glad I waited 10 years for this" good.
I think they're just scared. Maybe they did planned to release it some time in the past but they got delayed and delayed and the hype just grew and grew to the point that the safe thing to do was to not release it at all and keep half life's pristine imagine intact.
Still, id pay to hear the exact reason from them.
