I would kill for some Fierce Deity lore and some mask lore in general. What would you fags do to a game to make this happen?
MMfag here so I would essentially have the mask collecting thing make a return. A simplistic idea but I would have an increase in the total mask number from what it was in MM.
The cool part however; is that I would also introduce the "Face Sword". This guy would also double as the classic companion character. A sword that has a blank face on its guard that the various masks in the game could be equipped to, giving it various powers and puzzle solving utilities. The game would be gloriously difficult in places where you had to nimbly switch between masks both on Link and the sword in a very short span of time to use the very subtle effects each variety imparts in a given situation.
>One mask to raise a cube of earth from the ground, then a fire mask to strike only the left side of that cube (aim carefully), a time-slow mask on Link so you can run to the other side before the fire runs out, and put the bunny hood on the sword whose now-fast thrusts are the only thing that can hit every puzzle slot in time.
Have enemies in certain challenge modes/areas require things like this as well.

The best part; not only would you have unique masks different from MM (bring back the old must-haves of course) you'd also get to actually place the masks on your SWORD at the same time, granting you elemental transformations, puzzle-solving utilities, and other abstract stuff. Maybe replace the Ocarina by having a legendary "Bard Mask" that you must aquire that you then place on your sword to gain the song making mechanic. Put it on Link to -learn- the various songs throughout the game. Put it on the sword to -play- the songs. You can even use 2 masks at once by equiping one on Link, one on the sword. Best part is that the Transformation masks (of which I'm thinking 5 instead of 3) will change the instrument depending on the race.
Heck even have the minor masks add these purely aesthetic aesthetic -slight- musical/visual alterations (or even with a tiny puzzle solving potential) to the base instrument. I also have an idea for another mask category other than transformation. 'Summon Masks'. The only one of which I have thought up is Midna's Fused Shadow. Putting it on summons Imp Midna. Put it on the sword; True Midna. Midna + Bard-Sword would even give her a Twili instrument to play instead of you.
This would be how the optional pick-a-companion thing some people are clamoring for would operate. Tons of waifu potential, had idea for a mechanic grill that would use a bunch of gadgets including a mortar to rain hell from, the back while you charge the front. Pretty much pic related.

Each summon character, lets use Midna as an example, would have two modes: contextual and companion (mask on Link and Sword respectively). Midna in Imp from would do her action like playing a Twili instrument among others then go away. Putting a Summon mask on Face would bring True Midna with dual Twili scimitars or some shit and would follow you "Hey I'll carry yo shit" style. May or may not deprive you of your sword, dunno.
There would be three special masks; one would be the mid game occurrence that is equivalent of gaining the upgraded Sword in the previous titles; the Mimic Mask. Now whatever mask you have on will be treated as if it's also on Link/Face Sword at the same time. The Goron weapon/item/action/effect can now be wielded by the Goron itself etcetera; boosting and/or altering it slightly.
The others would be the Bard Mask and, surprise surprise, Majoras Mask. I plan on having Fierce Diety be the antag so a fun little gimmick in having the final mask you collect be obtained in the same way you got FD in MM would be kickass. You know everyone and their grandma wondered what it'd be like for Link to don Majoras Mask so now they can. It'd be limited where you could put it on but just boss battles was kinda gay so it could have rare uses in the creme-de-la-creme of challange modes and puzzles.

Could BotW Link be the same (adult) Link from OoT?
In the opening of Wind Waker it showed that the Link who defeated Ganon, the hero of time, left Hyrule and when Ganon came back to fuck up Hyrule, link wasn't around to save it. Could it be because he was sealed away, and doesn't wake up until Breath of the Wild? It would make sense why there wasn't a Link reincarnation there to prevent the Great Flood.

Link, the Guardians, and the Shiekah Slate all have the same RBG color value for their eyes not found anywhere else in the game. Link is engineered. Not only that, the reason a Hero didn't appear prior to Wind Waker was because the world recognized that a Chosen had walked on Hyrule, and therefore didn't try to create one, unaware that adult Link had left the timeline completely. The Hero of Time just doesn't exist in the adult timeline.

There is no convergent timeline, the game occurs sometime after Wind Waker. One of the item descriptions in the demo outright clarifies that the overworld used to be under the sea.

I just think that's not the direction they're going to take this game, story wise. Since we know you can do things in any order, including just rushing to the final boss, There won't be much to the immediate story (though the backstory will have a lot to it which you find through scattered clues). This is my theory too, but set during the pre Flood period, which makes more sense in my opinion.
Making it pre Flood explains better explains Sheikahs, Ganon coming back, why there's no hero spirit anymore. Doesn't explain Koroks, but that can be retconed easily enough. The Rock Salt item hinting at the Great Sea is harder to explain though.

It takes place between Skyward Sword and Ocarina of Time. The goddess Hylia is still referenced in architecture and lore, Death mountain is still highly active (it grows more dormant over the games), and the world is still mostly not colonized (settlements, even the ruins, are in small clusters, tribal clans, etc). They specifically refer to Ganon as 'Calamity' Ganon, implying it is sort of this dark energy creature.
This is the birth of Ganon, the first resurgence of Demise's curse. The conclusion will somehow explain how Ganon comes to be reincarnated in physical form as a gerudo (may or may not be mentioned specifically, probably left a little vague) The majority of the sheika technology, along with the shrines to Hylia, will be destroyed, and the stage will be set for the backstory to OoT.

The spirit orbs don't seem to serve much of a purpose besides trading in to get new items. Shrines in general seem really optional (although apparently everything in the game is optional). It'd be more likely that he'd be looking for something in the unseen dungeons.
So what if the game's subtitle, 'Breath of the Wild', alludes to a sort of anti-industrialization message similar to LotR, where Sheikah who believed they could control the world through technology are finally laid to rest, so that the breath of the wild can reinvigorate the world.

I find it interesting how Demise's malice was specified to come back in multiple incarnations to spite Link/Zelda's reincarnations, yet the only person we actually see inherit that malice is Ganondorf, who proceeds to somehow keep hold of it even in death or being sealed.
The fact Demise sets that up and Ganondorf pretty much never needs it, gets the Triforce of Power on top of that, and stays himself the whole time is great.

It does, seeing as how they would die INSTANTLY if they stayed in the water. They went from fresh water creatures to land creatures that could live in freshwater if they could find it. Eventually the freshwater adaptations became irrelevant and they were just landpeople. Flight happened eventually because they were on a very vertical island, evolved the same way winged creatures evolved on our earth.

Zora's have been shown to be highly adaptive. They were coral fish in Skyward Sword, then river monsters and bird people on the various timelines. While enough time has passed for them to adapt, it hasn't been long enough for other races to see significant changes. Also as I said, the zoras were on a very vertical island, and also had pre existing fins, which could be used to slightly reduce falling speed in case of falling off the edge. So I did my best to line up the maps for the child timeline, this includes SS all the way to FSA. Now this isn’t perfect by any means due to map size differences between 2D/3D games, and the fact that say MC will cut off parts of the overall environment, such as Death Mountain.
However, we can take a few things based on this map. Such as, we know that the Temple of Time in OoT is the same Temple of Time in TP, and the Sacred Grounds in SS. We know that. Note that this map is based solely on the Temple of Time and where it fits.
Now a few things of interesting note.

Again, saltwater tolerance would never form. They would die if they were in salt water. If they had a lake with river access to the ocean, they could live in the lake, and evolve the salt water from there.

Make your own theory, but here are some things.
In the previous thread we already gathered that the Sheikah are probably not up to any good. Out of that, the important points among the dank memes are, for me, that the Sheikah are heavily associated with time, and therefore the La'nayru civilization. The Sheikah also strongly associated with shadow, deception and trickery. The shown things tell us that the Sheikah are driving force in the future game.
TPP makes a lot more sense if you know that the Sheikah are more closely tied to the Dark Interlopers, the sorcerer tribe we actually never met in the game. Also notice that in TPP, the Lanayru region is where basically all the Hylians live, including city and castle area.
There is a master sword and several other elements from later, split timelines. This game can't be placed at the beginning of the timeline.
The La'nayru civilization had time machines in the past. There's absolutely no reason to think that the Sheikah have no access to similar devices. Obviously, this is a mix of magic and science. Devices like the Ocarina of Time are more about magic, but in the end it's a tool that uses magic to manipulate time. Guess where it came from.
The cycle of reincarnation is real and its effects are real in all timelines. Despite some anon's delusions, ALL Links, ALL Zelda and ALL Ganondorfs are affected by this. Their souls reincarnate, cursed to fight each other for the favor of the Golden Goddesses. People from the previous thread were right to suggest that the more powerful beings notices this and probably are capable to scheme around that.

Well that can't be true, as we know the Sacred Grove in TP houses the same Temple of Time as OoT, that makes those locations the same, meaning Faron Woods would have to be moved over and Ordon Ranch to the south of it.
There are clearly some things that change over time though, I won't argue that. Parts of the areas get frozen over, filled with water, filled with trees, earthquakes shatter parts of the land, etc.
But as far as I'm aware, ToT in TP matches up perfectly with how it should in OoT, with the TP map being north of what we know of the OoT map.

This is my take about the new game.
The Sheikah have reasons to break the cycle. They are actually still worshiping Hylia as a goddess, despite her descend into mortality so many generations ago. In fact, they did before the fall and they never stopped. Submitting to the royal family happened only in circumstance that the soul of their goddess happened to reincarnate in the King's daughter over and over again.
The Sheikah are actually supposed to worship the Golden Goddesses, but they give no fuck about them. They hate the status quo that keeps their own goddess in a cycle of mortal reincarnation. All around the Dark Interlopers before TPP happened because of that resentment. They were sick and tired of the cycle and thought they could break it with the Triforce. They failed horribly and had some of their own take the fall as a separatist group. The plan went back into the shelf.
Now, they try to hack the cycle itself. The timeline is either "the child" from TPP or a merge from all three. They put in "a Link" of their own because "the Link" happens to win the Triforce more often than "the Zelda" or "the Ganondorf". To prepare for this, they already fucked around with timelines to have a favorable stage. They decided to use every trick available to influence the outcome. Here, a decursed Ganondorf would come in handy.
The "game", they're playing is one against the Golden Goddesses. The cycle is the Goddesses's doing, not Demise's, as they permitted Hylia's descent and the fact that it's these three particular souls who keep setting the Triforce together. They want this struggle. It's probably their way of balancing things out.
The Sheikah try to get their goddess out and this time they cheat as much as they can.

There has to be two Hero of Times at the same time, or else every single game would also have a branching failure timeline.
Somewhere along the lines one of 3 things happens.
>You play as the Hero of Time that succeeds no matter what, while being influenced by the Hero of Time you don't play as it (the one that fails) in ways that help you out (ie: Song of Storms Paradox)
>Young Link is the Failure Hero of Time and Adult Link is the one that succeeds, meaning you're only playing half of each Hero's story, and they're causing paradoxes and influencing each other
>You jump around between the two, with the ultimate outcome you see being the succeeding Hero of Time against Ganon
However a thing we can assume is that while one of them is Adult Link, the other must be Young Link. Meaning somehow one of them learns the Song of Storms, and is actually teaching the other one the Song of Storms,and it causes a weird loop. This also means when the Hero of Time we know succeeds and defeats Ganon, the other Hero of Time that fails is still Young Link and something has gone wrong in his timeline where it's shifted and is slower, causing likely something to do be properly done due to the two Links influencing each other (likely the Spirit Temple), which causes him to fail against Ganon.
There has to be two Hero of Times existing concurrently in Hero of Time based on the timeline we have with no other failure diverges or timeline diverges out of OoT despite time travel being a thing in 3 other games.

People theorized a lot back then, when the canon timeline came out people stopped discussing these kind of things because we knew the placement of the games in the timeline.
So tell me if I got this right.
TIMELINE 1.
Link opens the chamber of time with the Master Sword, allowing Ganon to take over the triforce and the world. This ganon is defeated 7 years later by the Hero of time. However Ganon later would break out free and gets Hyrule flooded. Cue Wind waker
TIMELINE 2.
Child link (after getting shit done in the future) reveals Ganons plans, gets him captured and imprisoned in the shadow realm. Link goes on a self discovery journey to find navi. Get's lost, dies and then returns as a Shadow that helps a new Hero defeat ganon after he breaks out.
TIMELINE 3.
Link opens the chamber of time with the Master Sword, allowing Ganon to take over the triforce and the world. However he fails somehow? What the fuck how does this shit happen? Please help me understand

Well if TP is to be used as a rule and not an exception, than yes.
Could it be possible that with every new Link, with every death of a Link, the Hero's immortal soul fragments a bit and every time there is less of it left for the next hero?
We do see the skeleton of the OoT Link. And even with magic having the same soul at two places shouldn't be possible. So it should be safe to assume that the skeleton has a fragment of the hero's soul.

This logically has to stand if the child timeline is different to the adult timeline
I'd like to think he's the Link that was sent back at the end of OoT. He's returned from Termina to discover that Hyrule got it's shit kicked in by Gerudos.
Is Ganondorf still alive in that timeline? If he is, what's stopping him from invading again? Isn't their an implied war between Hyrule and the Gerudos?

The Hero of Time is sealed away for 7 years, and ultimately defeats Ganondorf. This timeline is the natural one, hence the Timeline of Courage, Link succeeded. This does lead to WW->PH->ST.

This timeline is a direct result of Zelda sending the Hero of Time back in time to relive his childhood. This leads to MM->TP->FSA.

Now here is where things get tricky. There must be two Hero of Times at one time, why? The Hero of Time is sealed for 7 years, however, due to putting the Master Sword back, he creates a secondary Timeline this very instant, allowing for two Hero of Times, one that is acting as a kid, while the other is Sealed or an Adult. Eventually this new created Link would fail, and Ganon would win, hence the Timeline of Power. This would lead to ALttP->OoA/S->LA->ALBW->LoZ->AoL

Alternatively, the third Link that fails to defeat Ganondorf just doesn't have a video game about him. He exists in a parallel timeline to OoT, and there is no video game detailing his exploits and eventual failure.
