Risen 2 is actually one of my favorite Pirate games right now. Pixel Piracy is disappointingly meh. There are a couple little indie ones I'll need to look up again too. And it depends if you want specifically pirates or just some awesome age of sail naval action. I consider Sunless Sea close enough to a pirate game to count it, for example.

Imagine the Batman game's combat, but more developed and complex. It doesn't have ridiculous counters like in Batman and parrying takes good timing. You can cheese fights with some of your magic abilities, but it's not fun and it's time consuming to do so, making it effective but ultimately pointless to do.

I've got over 20 games on this list, most of them are games that aren't worth the 60 bucks but could still give some entertainment if i'm bored and it's marked down for super cheap, like Mad Max or Shadow of mordor. Generic games but still good for a day or so of entertainment.
