I miss the days of passing by any Xbox kiosk and hearing the red vs blue characters being the mascots for the Xbox.

Because I clearly don't have anything better to do, I looked up every single animator listed in their credits (minus the ones who left Roosterteeth/died). Across the board, all sixteen animators, save maybe two or three, are very, VERY new. And I mean fresh-out-of-college new.
One big difference in how RoosterTeeth operates versus a school is turnaround time. If you care to look at the animators' demo reels, they're decent enough animators. However, they a) probably had more time to work on each of those projects in their demo reels, and b) used different programs. Industry standard for film/games is usually Autodesk Maya or 3DS Max, and neither of those have much in common with Poser (I've used it). Add mo-cap to the list, and you've got another specialty on your hands that your animators need to learn to deal with. (I should add, however, that Max and Maya are ludicrously expensive to license-well into thousands of dollars-so it's easy to see why Poser was an alternative.)
It's also difficult to be sure (RT is awfully secretive about their animation process), but I'd hazard that the MMD models they're re-purposing for RWBY--MMD is a free animation software that centers on Vocaloids, by the by--aren't as carefully rigged as, say, a model made by a professional. MMD models have a few limitations given the freeware that they operate on, and they don't tend to be as user-friendly as models made for Maya, 3DSMax, or Blender.
I would also guess that the animation style isn't doing them many favors. To put it simply, 3D animators learn to do fluid animation only. RWBY calls for more limited, anime-esque animation-and anime itself is full of shortcuts like moving cameras, smears, etc.--but you have to really, REALLY know what you're doing in both 2 and 3D to pull it off correctly (see Guilty Gear Xrd and their 2015 GDC panel). What they end up with is really nice mo-cap animation and stilted everyday animations that really do not blend well.
The Ray fans really were fanatical. Watching the old stuff and he really sucked. I don't bother with his stream because it's a dime a dozen. Considering he had a role at RT as a voice actor, he should have just come back to AH, especially since RT let's employees have their own channels and streams now.
Also Adam and James from FH are really fully of themselves. They need to realize their demographic isn't 25 year olds, it's teenage edgelords.
Ray was overrated as fuck.

I don't know if you read Shane's letter, but the Monty pipeline was apparently a huge pain in the ass since everyone except Monty and Shane were legitimate animators (A.K.A. Not self-taught) so just figuring out a way to get the two groups to work together was a large inconvenience.
Haven't you noticed that ever since Monty passed away and Shane got fired, RT announced the wait between seasons would now be shorter? That's because they don't have to work through a bunch of different software.
Also the models do look like MMD models, but everyone 3D animator first learns how to model if they are formally trained.

They were willing to put up with the whole two different workforces when Monty was alive, because even though he was self-taught and worked on a different program, he was a better animator than all the rest of them and they knew it.
Shane isn't. He's a different animator who likes to put in a lot of polish, and is great at choreography, but he wasn't as essential to the project as Monty was. As a result, once Monty died there was little reason to keep Shane on. He's a great animator, as good as the professionals, but he's not so good that it's worth trying to integrate two separate work forces and have him as the bottle neck.

I think we can all agree that they were best during the Blood Gulch Chronicles.
Seasons 6-8 were alright, an everything after has been meh. I stopped watching after Season 10, tried to pick up on 11, but couldn't.
As for everything else, they're just faggots who do whatever they want knowing they have Red vs Blue, and now RWBY money to fall back on if (when) they fail. They're good for normalfags I guess, but they stopped being very good in general.

A fair amount of their LPs feel somewhat different from most Let's Players, because since the main group, Achievement Hunter, is a group, they often talk about things other than the game they're playing that makes it interesting. Also, certain series like Worms and the Mini-Golf stuff is really good.

Also Monty was the catalyst for the entire animation department. Burnie was always interested in animation but it was way too expensive. Monty was cheap and created some amazing stuff.
The problem with Shane is... Well, Shane has a lot of problems. But he came after Monty, and also because of Monty. When Monty passed away, RT already had a stable of writers and professional animators. They didn't need another Monty. The only thing that would have been acceptable was Monty himself.

It's an old theory about Geoff and Burnie. There was an old podcast right before Geoff stopped doing that that brought up something about Geoff's homelife and Griffon and Burnie or something to that effect, I don't exactly remember, and Geoff immediately stopped doing podcasts after that and you never see him and Burnie actually doing anything beyond meetings and RvB anymore, which seems more forced than anything.

I became a fan about half a year before Monty died. I made my way through RvB before then and was also obsessed with RWBY. I even participated in the shitfest that was /RWBYg/ on /co/ back then and had a hell of a time. Monty's death was fucking devastating as a fan, but my interest with RT tapered off by the end of that summer, especially with Ray's departure. I've still stuck around for RWBY Volume 3 and even managed to watch Lazer Team, but I don't think I could gain interest back in them like I had back then.
RVB went from greet to meh after season 5 and turned into irredeemable garbage after season 8, RWBY had some interesting things going on but three years into it and it's fucking garbage so that's out and all the people working there are just the worst, no matter who.

That being said, the only content that I like that they put out is the RT Podcast, Million Dollars But and I guess technically RWBY because I've fapped to the characters but never seen the show
I think the only draw of rwby is that it's the only anime written by westerners and eastern storytelling is always so alien and never translates well.

I totally agree. I love their normal LP videos like Demo Disk and all that but I had to stop listening to their podcast after the dozenth time they mocked some view or another that was perfectly reasonable.
