Not him, but no. However, there are period accounts that praise her personal charm and presence while suggesting she wasn't particularly good-looking. The coins also show her with masculine features (although for propaganda reasons they that might be deliberate, in order to give an impression of strength).

Supposedly they are trying to give AI players stronger personality with agendas and Cleopatra has a well-known for wooing powerful men (Caesar and Mark Antony) which is ought to translate to the AI seeking alliances with powerful military powers.
>>
They blatantly ripped Cleopatra look from the Rome series.
>>
>>341483989
To my knowledge there's no statues that have clearly been attributed to be her.

>there are period accounts that praise her personal charm and presence while suggesting she wasn't particularly good-looking.

Which accounts?

>The coins also show her with masculine features

Perhaps that's because every Ptolemaic coin ever minted featured an image of Ptolemy I. Cleopatra's silver staters simply reworked the same image that had been used for the previous 300 years.

Cleopatra was Greek/Macedonian, descendant of the Ptolmeic dynasty that ruled Egypt after Alexander the Great blew through there a few hundred years prior.

She was the first of her lineage to actually learn egyptian and was liked by the natives, but anyone who represents her as a north african is wroooooong

Plutarch and Cassius Dio, for example. Of course, they weren't contemporary to Cleopatra and didn't see her with their own eyes, but they might have (and probably did) original sources not available to us today.

I'm not an expert in Roman history by any means, but I have read some popularized science articles about her from reputable magazines and if they are to be trusted, the prevailing interpretation of all available evidence is that beauty wasn't what Caesar and Antony saw in her.

>>
Didn't Cleopatra flee during the Battle of Actium causing all of Marc Anthony's ships to panic and route? fucking useless hoe should've been left at home, a mexican or black gf would never have done that
>>
So they outsourced the leader movies to Pixar right?
>>
>>341486093
Does not mean that much, cult of Isis was popular in Rome too, does not mean that they looked like archaic or 1st kingdom period Egypt.
>>
>>341485667
If a modern one was going to be picked Churchill would be the obvious choice

managing a wide empire was perfectly fine in civ 5, and in the scope of civ perfectly fine as well

this would make wide empires easier than 4 and even easier than 5

They confirmed 18 civs in the base game and they've already revealed 4 (5 if you count the Ghandi talk as confirmation) so who are the possible candidates that didn't appear in Civ4/5? Mexico?

Gran Colombia under Bolívar
>>

Henry the Eight for example might work since they're apparently looking for big personalities over historically important/good leaders this time (well, more so than before).

Gotta sell those DLCs and "expansion" packs.

Just play Caveman2Cosmos. It's infinitely better than anything Firaxis can make.

America, Egypt, China, Japan, England, France, Germany, India, Russia, Rome, Greece

Those will all be in without a doubt, with the first 4 confirmed

That leaves 7 more - they did also confirm that there are at least a couple civs that haven't been in any of the previous games before but I'd reckon only 1-2

Each civilization will have three uniques instead of two.
>>
Civ5 had great portraits, why couldn't they make them of the same quality again?
>>
>>341496016
They're fleshing out the Civs and giving them better AI for once. Quality>Quanity, I don't need 10 useless or vanilla as fuck civs from day one. I'd rather have 10 Venice tier civs than 30 Catherines.
They'll have a more advanced personality system, each leader acts a certain way based on history with random additional modifiers added at the start of each game.
>>
>>341496681
But will they actually be balanced?
>>
>>341496681
I guess that's a bit better.

I hope we'll actually get a good Earth map with real starting positions. It sucks that you have to rely on modders making them.
>>
>>341497010
The lead Dev said they'd neglected how popular an Earth map is for too long and will definitely have one.
>>
>>341496730
They've gone cheapo on them probably because they were the biggest overhead for new civs in V. There better be multiple leaders per civ to compensate for that downgrade though.
>>

>>

They are more like glorified balance patches at this point.
