Are we going to get another moon swinging piece of shit or are we in for something special?
>>341476082
some more bam ham combat for spiderman thats shit or actual proper combat suiting his abilities
>that costume
no
can i just have my hopes and dreams for a spiderman game fulfilled just this once? its been 12 long years since they goat webswinging game, i just want that fun again
>>341476236
>spiderman game
>costume
therell prob be a bunch of alternates anyway
>Made by Insomniac Games
>>341476082
Moon swinging is the standard.
I do wish for some realistic building swinging again though.
>>341477719
Ratchet and clank is pretty great desu
>>341476082
So what exactly happened with Activision?
I thought Activision had the Spiderman license?

activision is kill
>>341479793
If only
>>341479241
Marvel/Sony deal
>>341479241
Does this mean no Spiderman by Platinum?
Because I was honestly expecting that to be the next Platinum game Activision gives them too little money to make great.
>>341479968
Wondering if marvel are going to go this way for their other games or just because of this deal. Doesnt seem smart of them to lock their game universe onto one platform
>>341478924
Sunset Overdrive isn't bad either.
The movement and animations are 10/10 atleast
>>341479968
Someone theorized that part deal was Sony letting go the movie right to spiderman so they can make the game. Which given recent news, might be a real possibility
>>341479241
Activision lost out on their Marvel rights ages ago
the only thing they held on to where the spidey movie licensed games
>Insomniac
Might be alright actually.
>>341476507
we're just shy of 11 years since Ultimate Spider-Man cam out though
>>341482570
ultimate spiderman had great story, villains and bosses, nice look, great venom but the web swinging felt like a step down somehow. It was still the last time we ever got proper webs that attach to buildings but it lacked the speed and acrobatics of spiderman 2. Was a better game in nearly every aspect except the webswinging and for a spiderman game this is a huge thing
>>341481620
They still own it cause they are making new Spider-Man movie
>>341476082
I trust Insomniac to make a game that's at the least fun to play and pretty
>>341483145
It felt like even the highest buildings are not even half the size of ones in PS2 Spider-man 2.
Still the best game after 2
>mfw thinking about the shitstorm on /v/ and /pol/ when they reveal the spiderman player character as a black teenager
>>341483687
Too bad he is already confirmed to bet Peter Parker
not gonna lie this looks pretty sweet
Hope we get some fun suit unlocks
>mfw wishing someday for a new spider man game as wacky, wild, and full of unlockables as the PS1 Spiderman game was
>>341483608
yeah the sense of scale was gone too, you didnt feel like you were diving off a skyscraper in ultimate while doing the same in sm2 had half your screen blurred and your speakers blowing wind.
Great game, id say 2 sets forward in every other department but half a step back in the web swinging department
>>341484000
A black Peter Parker.
>>341483585
yeah it wont be the best story and stuff but itll be good fun at least knowing them
Lets hope fun doesnt mean casualising the fuck out of the webswinging and adding moon swinging with no physics
>>341483687
>>341484560
do you get off on this shit? every fucking thread this one guy comes in and posts this and derails the entire thread with ease. Its bloody amazing how effective this one shitpost really is
>>341484342
EEL NATS
>>341476082
I love how he used two strands of web to slingshot himself through the tempered glass window
Hopefully Insomniac is competent enough to realize that the meat and potatoes of what makes a Spiderman game is the web slinging. Just that swinging motion where you go faster and faster as you swing downwards. It looks good to me from what I saw in the trailer
>>341484064
you should be able to detect bullshot graphics by now.
i am dissapointed in you
>>341484342
Looking forward to any cameos and references to other characters in the universe too. Costumes like Bombastic Bagman and maybe any Fantastic Four appearances like the PS1 games had.
>>341485126
>bullshots
it looks no better than Uncharted 4
>>341485126
Every year its the same shit. Trailer is leaked, people cream themselves because of a CGI sequence that is "in game" as much as the opening movie of the game. Then everyone loses it over some quick time event that is "ingame" thinking theyll have this level of control over the character.
Im optimistic but we really do need to calm the fuck down when a dev says "this is ingame". Until a gameplay video surfaces or a demo take it all as bullshit no exceptions.
>>341485485
And uncharted 4 is a linear shooter.
Spiderman looks like an open world game.
There's no way to have that level of detail in an open world game on existing consoles without running at sub 10fps.
Expect a downgrade.
>>341476082
Already confirmed to swing from buildings
>>341485485
one is a corridor shooter the other an open world game. Keep your expectations low or have your heart broken
>>341477719
What is the problem? Insomniac is a great team which only really bad game was that FPS that made for EA that EA told them to make it more like a generic FPS because of some retarded focus groups results.
>>341486094
ok now im excited
>>341486094
source?
ASM2 was 'confirmed' too
>>341485828
if U4 can do these huge moving environments with an insane amount of assets moving past you and explosions everywhere AND can populate a huge ballroom with tons of people like in that screenshot (or in the marketplace level of the game) all on a PS4, I'm sure Spiderman can do the same thing.
>>341487043
You know nothing about open world game optimisation then.
>>341487043
>huge moving environments
mate youre in for a shock
>Are we going to get another moon swinging piece of shit or are we in for something special?
Isn't the whole point of this game that they're being all "WE ACTUALLY PUT MONEY AND EFFORT INTO IT THIS TIME!"
They want to get the capegame going for real. Arkham games made them realize that talent and money is needed.
>>341487112
>>341486119
It's just a different way of loading maps and managing LOD. Tell me what is so demanding about it? The map is just loaded dynamically as the player moves around it. The PS2 was doing it back with GTA San Andreas.
Distant stuff is represented as sprites or extremely simple models because its too small to see anyway
>>341487971
Oh my sweet summer child.
>>341476507
would that not kill the poor guy?
They said there will be realistic physics on the web swinging. An example they used was if you're chasing a car and it turns right you will have to swing off the building to the right rather than the left to pursue it.
They also said that there is a huge emphasis on movement for traversing the city and in combat to add a lot of creativity. They say that the cafe scene from the trailer was actual gameplay.
I cant find the source I saw this so you cant believe me or not, I dont care.
>>341483687
That would be cool actually desu senpai
>>341488374
Just about everything spidey does would kill a normal man, yet at most he usually just gives them a concussion.
>>341486271
Y'know, I can't find a source. /co/ and /v/ threads kept saying it but there doesn't seem to be a source from what I can find, especially from the links they had.
>>341486094
ASM2 swang from buildings, and it was dogshit because there was no momentum behind it
>>341476082
All web swinging will be QTEs.
You can't use it normally, you have to pick out of a few preset markers on the map screen and Spiderman will automatically swing there.
It's basically a quick travel mechanic and nothing more.
>>341477719
They got swinging right before Spiderman did

>>341488178
do you have anything substantive to say? In the above video, the entire map is not loaded all at once. Assets are loaded dynamically as you move through the level. How is this any less demanding than what they do in an open world game?
There is no reason why Spidermans graphics couldn't look on the same level as U4's
>>341490409
spider-man has produced 2 of the best superhero games ever and one of the best games on the ps1 you shit dick
>>341490776

Just hope it doesn't suck.
>>341494560
>no tie-in games
Not on Consoles/PC, they are making a crapload on smartphones
It's being devved by Insomniac and it's not a movie tie-in so I actually have some hope.
>>341495053
I'm not sure if you understand.
Battlefront is in the same universe as Star Wars movies in that the same stuff happens in the past but Battlefront won't affect the movie's future.
This game and the MCU are not related at all except that they're selling them at around the same time to make extra money
>>341476082

I think the white element would work if they made the lines (the weird tacticool segregations, not the web lines) white.
Although maybe white webbing would look cool.

>>341498932
Not exactly. The game could have a physics engine while letting spidey swing across the Hudson without going near any of the bridges.
Still, it's silly how people think someone like Insomniac wouldn't do realistic web slinging since all the Ratchet games involve you grappling with some kind of object to get pull and swing from.
>>341499216
Web attaches to moon/clouds for most of the games after 2
thought platinum was doing a spider man game
>>341499327
>letting spidey swing across the Hudson without going near any of the bridges
this would completely ruin any suspension of disbelief or feeling of immersion for me
it's annoying cause i really want to like the games
>>341499216
You know how good the swinging felt in 2? The momentum, the rush of connecting your webs to the world around you and releasing just at the right moment?
Yeah they threw that right into the trash and went with lifeless swinging that has all your webs connect to the magical ceiling in the sky.
>>341499248
>It's not gameplay because I'm not controlling Spiderman with five different buttons
Goddamn, you're fucking stupid. You'd have a point if this were going to be "press X to run through the shop" and it all plays itself. But if it does let you hold a button and stick, that's fucking gameplay. It's fact. And who said it would be canned? If you're holding the stick, you're going to probably direct which table Spiderman clambers over.
>>341499401
>moon/clouds
What, seriously? As in the webs attach in unseen places higher than buildings, so you assume, or you can literally see it touching moons and clouds?
>>341499675
It's not gameplay because it's most likely gonna be as interactive as any cutscene.

>>341499714
>>341499616
Oh nvm, I see.
>>341499062

>>341499714
It means that the webbing just goes straight up instead of connecting to buildings and lightposts and shit.
Connecting to the "moon/clouds"
>>341499783
If you're pressing buttons, that's gameplay. You can't say it's not gameplay just because you're not having to hid square and X to make sure Spiderman doesn't trip up and fumble through the shop.
>>341498932
so basically you want weight, like where you build up speed while swinging downwards and lose it when swinging up?

you would expect spidey to shoot a web sideways (or at least at a severe angle) toward the edge of a building, and expect him to gain speed as the radius of the swing decreases, but instead he just awkwardly shifts left or right at the same speed, with no regard to the shape of the world around him.

They have multiple teams, they have the capability of doing at least 2 games simultaneously now. Maybe even 3. Consider how relatively close to each other MGR, Wonderful 101, Bayonetta 2 and Korra were released to each other.
But it does seem like one team of theirs is more "the team you outsource shovelware that'll be finished in a year to" like Korra, Transformers and Ninja Turtles.

most of the time I invested in Batman AC was playing the fucking combat-challenge mode. I finally got three stars on Joker's Carnival, where you needed to get like 1000x hits in a row twice in a row to even have a chance at 3 stars. That shit was intense
Having the fighting like it was in Arkham City is the best, most fun way to do a 3D beat-em-up

you could have something like Uncharted 4 but with bamham combat and the openness of say Arkham City. The climbing could actually be fun because cap is insanely superhuman (could work like how Catwoman climbs), and the cinematic style would suit the game, considering it'd most definitely be based on movie Cap / Chris Evans. and they would want it to feel consistent with the actual movies.
It could have sweet setpieces, like escaping an exploding hostile heli-carrier while fighting a huge boss or some shit.
>>341506530
That is pretty much universally agreed on
>>341498080
>he hasn't played Spider-Man 2
Moonswinging = hovering and flying around while it cycles through the same fake swinging animations over and over
Real swinging = you can attach your web to a flag pole and swing round and round on it building up momentum then launch really far.
Or you can attach your line to a helicopter and just hang on for the ride.
Or you can do complex swinging tricks and navigate tight mazes by attaching your line to one thing, swinging part way, letting go and attaching a line to something else and swinging sideways, then jumping off and swinging the other way
It's like you want to play a racing game where the terrain's slope and elevation make no difference to how your car is moving. Might as well just have the track be a flat texture on the ground but with no physical boundaries so you can just drive in a straight line forever
>>341498416

Moonswinging is like that one next gen side scrolling Sonic game where he can stand perfectly still on the vertical part of a half pipe.
Sonic 1 2 and 3 all had physics so you had to play around with building up momentum on half pipes and slopes. If you stopped or got hit you were penalized by having to slowly start up again. Skilled players could use the ramps and loops to build up speed and go smoothly through the level.
>>341506883

Why are people so adamant about this? It feels like the weirdest thing to get hung up on.
I mean, if they DO get the swinging entirely accurate, then more power to them, but you'd think gameplay would come first.
All else being equal, would moon swinging really be THAT bad?
>>341508995
>you'd think gameplay would come first.
Web swinging is a huge part of the gameplay anon.
>>341507875
Yeah, about that
>>341507862
maybe he could dive through skyscraper windows with his shield and run through the building interiors? The interiors could randomly generated and loaded up at the time the player makes the jump towards the window.

>>341508995
Spider-Man games usually don't have anything going for them other than cool web swinging mechanics and alternate costumes.

Ask yourself, "What if driving in GTA V had cars that never touched the ground with their tires?" No skid marks. And zero physics. Surely, you would conclude, "What the hell? GTA III and IV had more realistic driving and came out way before. This sucks."
>>341509584
Moonswinging does not work or feel NEARLY as good as Spiderman 2's web swinging did. It's functional if you've never played Spiderman 2 before, but once you've tried the real thing you can't go back.
>>341509584
Seeing the web attach to visible objects is important. It grounds the characters actions to the world around him. Moonswinging makes the whole mechanic feel like more of an abstraction.
It would be as if gun reloads didn't have animations - sure, there's no real mechanical difference in the gameplay, but it feels wrong.

>>341510771
It's not that it's impossible to code, it's that it's impossible to make such a mechanic run well on current hardware. The processing power needed to consistently pull off something like that would be insane.
>>341483687
That wouldn't be realistic, Spiderman's not a petty thief or drug dealer.
>>341510771

>>341511137
Not really, it could easily be generated when you boot up the game for your current session.
>>341510140
well they wouldn't be truly randomly generated, they would be more like seeds. The interiors could be composed of building-blocks (like cubicles or hallways) that could be arranged and assembled to make a part of a floor of a building. The assets used in these building-blocks of the interiors could just be kept fresh in memory, ready for when a player is going to make a jump, and then placed on the specific building floor when the player decides to actually make the jump.
but you're right it's probably impossible

Regardless, why would you want open-world Cap? Open-world works for Spidey because he has great movement. Cap just runs.m Maybe give him a vehicle but it's not different from GTA except for superstrength and morals then.
I'd prefer a story-based Cap game with set levels
Cap works best in MUA-like games desu.
>>341511927
>Regardless, why would you want open-world Cap? Open-world works for Spidey because he has great movement.
I don't, really, but how could the developers even contain him to a linear environment? He could easily run and jump and climb over any normal-looking obstacle you would use to try and keep the player from leaving the game area. Either they would have to dumb down his abilities or they would have to use shit like invisible walls
>>341511927
I didn't fucking say that, idiot.
>>341512623

And the villains have? Besides, why is Doctor Doom there? I can sort of understand Kingpin and Doc Ock caring, since it's their city, but Doom is a foreign monarch who has shown little to no regard for the sovereignty or security of other nations. Why does he care? Magneto makes even less sense - the man has actively worked for the subjugation and/or culling of humanity as a whole on several occasions.

>>341511927
Cap can run like 60 mph and can jump like 15 feet in the air straight up. If they made an open world game for him, he would probably be getting prince-of-persia-like movement abilities such as wallrunning-to-climbing/jumping, jumping between buildings, and not taking fall damage by landing on his shield. If you could run through bulding interiors at 60mph and jump out the other side it would be fun as hell. The interiors could be basic as hell and I would still enjoy it.
They'd probably just give him a vehicle 1/3 of the way through the game though, maybe even a flying one later

This is a pretty shitty thing for Sony as a film company to do and Marvel to allow. Spider-man is Marvel's largest IP. To isolate it to one platform is just a kick in the dick to Marvel fans. I don't really understand it...
I understand a game like Sunset Overdrive or Ratchet & Clank being exclusive because they are the unique creative properties under their respective development agreements... but Spider-man?
God damnit man. I have a PS4 in the livingroom but I don't want to play such a promising title on an ancient tablet console. I would much rather have it on my PC.

Then some madmen come out of fucking nowhere and smash the entire thing to the ground, breaking down the house of cards he has built and he suddenly realizes how fragile the whole thing is and it fucking terrifies him. I hope this new game focuses on what makes Spider-man incredible. His ingenious self-made fighting style. He doesn't do a whole lot of swinging around in the comics, which is the main focus of most of the games unfortunately. He uses his webs in so many inventive ways. The closest we've seen to it is maybe the PS1 game or... Shattered Dimensions...

You're clearly not very familiar with the character so I'm gonna try and not be an asshole explaining this.
There's a lot more to Peter Parker than just being a man-spider. He was a very smart kid, and in a lot of ways on his way to being a supervillain before his Uncle Ben died. Freak accident, shunned by his peers, mocked for his intellect, yadda yadda. The point is his intelligence is as important to the character as his powers, and the web shooters are one of the easiest ways to display that to a casual reader. He makes these nifty devices all on his own, and the reader sees "Okay he's an inventor, yeah, he's a smart guy."

Not him but I was the one who said that, and I didn't mean they would be truly randomly-generated (even though yes, that is what I said).
I meant more like the interiors could be arranged based on randomly-selected seeds, like in >>341511496
>>341522258
So what? The webs being some mutation isn't that big a deal. It's different, it's not bad. Calm down autist.
>>341484064
>not gonna lie this scripted cutscene where you have no control of spider-man looks pretty sweet
If anything this cutscene has gotten me worried, I don't want another cinematic shitfest.
>>341520489
25 years old here. I love that combat for being simple, yet fun. One button to attack, one to parry, other to roll/jump over people, other to stun more than one enemy, gadgets to control the crowd. It's just well done.
>>341522205
Tobey was alright, and at least I could mostly ignore Mary Jane/laugh at her. The real awful acting was fucking James Franco as Harry Osborn.
And the Raimi films were better for two reasons: Dafoe as Norman, and Molina as Doc Ock.
>>341522472
Basically if you Spiderman 2 movie gamefags can say without it's kind of webswinging it's not a real Spiderman game, we comicbookfags can also say without webshooter it's not a real Spiderman movie.
>>341522258
>and the web shooters are one of the easiest ways to display that to a casual reader.
So basically you want them to casualize the writing for people who don't care about the series enough to even learn about the main character?
>BUT HOW WILL PEOPLE KNOW HE'S SMART!
Well, in regards to the movies since that is where you take issue, probably from the fact that they SHOW IT through him taking classes in the higher sciences, and not going to college for women's studies?
>>341522551
Don't forget that fantastic hospital scene where Doc Ock's arms assume direct control.
>>341522472
He just explained it to you very calmly and politely despite you being retarded and asking one of the most often-repeated "I am stupid and know nothing about this character" questions in all of capeshit. If anything you're the autist.
>>341485610
>ultimate spiderman
Well that sequence is obviously a scripted moment you have no control during. It remains to be seen whether it only occurs at one particular point in the story or if there are lots of interiors you can pass through like this at will, like how Assassin's Creed 3-onwards let you duck into open windows, through the interior and out on the other side.
>>341476236
>implying Spidey Games doesn't have alternate costumes
>>341522767
You're on the videogame board though, not the comic board. We get to make the rules, this is our house.
And in our house we say method of shot web is not important, but shotting web is.
>>341489975
Hahaha can you imagine?
>>341522767
No, because spiderman 2 webswinging has a direct effect on the game. The movie having the webs be a mutation Pete can naturally create isn't inherently bad as far as the story goes. It's different, not bad. Learn the difference anon.
>>341523039
You're not even talking about the game but the movie though. So you can't evend do "it's our turf!" shit.
>>341522906
First off, I wasn't the other poster he was replying to in the first place. Second, nothing in his post explained why it was bad. Cease your autism for a moment and think.
>>341507875
>With reason/justification.
Yeah, their own reasons and justifications. Terrorists have their own reasons and justifications too.
>>341522807
>So basically you want them to casualize the writing for people who don't care about the series enough to even learn about the main character?
That's not remotely what I said. Please don't put words in my mouth. Conservation of detail is important in comic books because it is a condensed medium. You want to be able to convey things to the readers visually, or quickly. Instead of unnecessary scenes divulging his research into the sciences (though those occasionally come up), the writers and artists can visually display Peter's genius the readers with gadgetry, as well as show how he incorporates his intelligence into his crime fighting. His spider tracers are another example of this. It adds an extra dimension to the character that would be lost replacing all of that tech with just another superpower
>>341515341
If you look closely, you see that you have no control.
You have a punch and a roll/counter button.
And nothing more.
>>341523198
Well then it's /tv/'s turf. But since there is no mention of feet they're not going to bother.
>>341491673
To agree with you, there's videos on youtube of Naughty Dog coders talking about the different techniques they used, and their focus as a company on getting as low-level as possible to have as much control as possible. This has been their thing since Crash Bandicoot 1, which itself was a bit of a feat, and I recommend anyone interested read up on that game's development.
>>341493203
It's not like ND can just deliver a powerpoint and suddenly every developer can churn out a hyper-optimised game, come on. This shit is complex and I don't think they could give more than a few pointers.
>>341501991
How to properly make a Cap game?
>>341523282
You're being dumb. He explained that Spider-Man's web shooters are a quick and simple way of showing the audience he is smart. They are a visual tool that distinguishes the character.
The other guy just went "hurrrrr if he's a Spider-guy then why does he have any characteristics that are not 'I'm a spider'"
>>341523693
Make another Marvel Ultimate Alliance game.
Done.
>>341523737
>You're being dumb.
And you're not reading.
>He explained that Spider-Man's web shooters are a quick and simple way of showing the audience he is smart.
Yes, and changing that to something else isn't inherently bad. Try to pay attention.
>>341524030
No, he asked why changing it isn't SUPERIOR, and said having natural webs is automatically better than web shooters, because he isn't familiar with the character. >>341521810
Thanks for telling me you're illiterate though.
>>341524210
And I'm literally not the poster that presented that question. I asked a different one. Reading can change your life anon.
>>341524210
>yfw this Peter Parker is actually THE SUPERIOR SPIDEY
>>341524472
Please no. That plotline was terrible.
>>341524668
>he doesn't like midget
>>341524668
Superior Spider-Man is Slott's best storyline, which isn't saying much because most of it has been trash but still
>>341524396
My god, you are one dumb motherfucker. You came in on the side of the guy that made that claim and called the other guy autistic for countering that claim. You supported what that anon said, quick backpedaling and admit you didn't bother to read the reply chain before replying.
Scarlet Spider standalone game when?
>>341524772
Anon, just because Superior Spider-Man is the 4/10 that rules among 2/10s doesn't mean I'm going to lie and call it a 10/10. If the only way to praise it is to say "it's slightly less shitty than all these very shitty things" it's not worth praising it at all.
>>341524880
>You came in on the side of the guy
You're projecting again anon. Seek help.
>>341498323
What do you expect? The suit was designed by Tony Stark, its gonna be full of overdesigned bullshit.
>>341524668
The suit was good, though. Hopefully we'll get it in this game.
>>341525024
Sorry for biting the bait. This is the last (You) you'll get out of me Mr. Autism
>>341525098
Yeah, the suit is ok. I personally hope we can getScarlet Spider.
>>341524908
But anon, who would voice Aracely?
>>341525197
Take some reading lessons while you're at it.
>>341522476
The player is very likely just pressing R1 and holding forward in that part, jumping over obstacles and shit automatically as part of the sprint animation. This is how it's always been when sprinting in open-world superhero games because it's ridiculous to expect the player to control every little jump and motion like that when all they want to do is move around the map.
You are basically complaining that the game has good animation.
>>341521173
Keep being autistic, baby.
>>341522932
>Well that sequence is obviously a scripted moment you have no control during
Except you clearly do. Oh, but you've played this game already and somehow know it isn't in there, don't you? :/
>>341526045
What do you expect? People think it's somehow possible to make ALL of that action, each movement from the jumps, twirls, and leaps, be controlled by the player.
The ONLY fucking possible way would be some retarded "press each button in perfect timing" or else Spidey fumbles like he shitted his pants suddenly.
>>341501858
holy shit this looks like hot garbage. what gen is this?
>>341527098
Pretty sure that's the PS3 version. PC used the PS2 version and they were way worse than that.
>>341526743
>People think it's somehow possible to make ALL of that action, each movement from the jumps, twirls, and leaps, be controlled by the player.
Where has anybody said that?
There some faggot saying that it's all a cutscene as soon as Spidey jumps in through the window and everybody else saying "No, you control him throughout the movement."
What the fuck do you think control means?
>>341526229
Keep ignoring blatant facts autismo.
>>341509427
>that 90 degree turn at 0:19
I love Cap
>>341527750
Keep shitposting, child.
>>341528027
Why'd you delete your post, anon?
I've only played the gamecube spiderman game, was that a good one?
>>341527541
The same faggot who thinks a shoulder button + stick isn't gameplay. The stupid nig honestly thinks you can't call that control despite LITERALLY using the controller to make that shit happen.
>>341483687
No doubt he will be an unlockable skin or DLC
>>341529172
I mean, if it's his costume DLC I don't think /v/ would mind that much. It is looks cool.
Anybody else bothered by the costume? The white logo just looks bad.
>>341528730
>The same faggot who thinks a shoulder button + stick isn't gameplay. The stupid nig honestly thinks you can't call that control despite LITERALLY using the controller to make that shit happen.
I was the one who made >>341526045
Re-read the post, I actually said nothing like what you're describing at all.
> "it's ridiculous to expect the player to control every little jump and motion like that when all they want to do is move around the map."
>>341498676
>i know its gonna get downgraded a lot
Maybe, maybe not.
>>341529425
I like it. What I don't like is it has so little red-and-web design, it's just mostly blue.
>>341529540
I didn't say you said that.
If this game doesnt have a metric fuck ton of alternate costumes that you can unlock itll be instant 0/10
>>341529773
The only thing that matters is that the combat is finally good for once.
>>341529425
I agree, The white looks like shit
>>341529943
If it doesn't have WoS swing kick it's instant 0/10.
>>341521902
To be fair, he would've risked getting a "B" if he had skipped.
>>341528605
You're the only one shitposting homeslice.
>>341531010
No, it's just you. Now maybe if you'd stop, people won't keep shitting back on you.
>>341520489
>he's never experienced the fun of being on a roll in Bamham.
I feel sorry for you.
You could just smash the attack button blindly, but then you'd lose your combo all the time and you would never get critical hits. The thing is you have to choose who you attack intelligently based on who is currently trying to hit you, who is standing around waiting, and who is closest.
The standard counter-attacks hardly do any damage and are really more for just defending yourself from basic enemies. There are various other types of enemies that you cannot counter and can only dodge. Countering people with bladed weapons requires good timing.
Also you can turn off the incoming-attack indicator if you feel it makes the game too easy ("one hand tied" mode). It helps if you play using a gamepad
>>341531863
It's just you replying dipshit. All because you don't know how to read and think a direct quote somehow doesn't exist. Good luck with your life. you're going to need it.
>>341531938
See, I get that. I like building up a good combo too, and working my way through a group of enemies, taking out the shield guys or the taser guys once I have a combo built up. It's fun in it's own way, but never, in any of these games, have I ever been in danger of dying. The only failure is screwing up a combo. That just makes it all seem really shallow to me. Still fun sometimes, but it won't keep me coming back like a real combat system.
>>341533332
It's just you, too, negroid. All you had to do was not respond. Yet here you are, shitposting like a little baby.
>>341533832
>>341533332
>>341531863
>>341531010
How about you both shut the fuck up
>>341533832
You're projecting again anon.
>>341476082
This game came out of nowhere but it was by far my favorite thing at the Sony conference. I'm pretty hyped.
They finally gave Spider-Man to a competent developer.
>>341534120
>using projection wrong.
Guess I shouldn't be surprised of an illiterate fool such as yourself.
>>341534279
>using illiterate wrong
Keep digging that hole anon.
>>341534524
No, I used the word correctly. Unlike you who doesn't know how to use projection, brat.
>>341533720
Play on hard mode then. You act like you never, ever get hit. Everyone gets hit sometimes
In the challenge mode of AC you can use all these handicaps and modifiers; one makes it so enemies throw shit at you, another makes them faster, another removes the indicators. Bamham combat has the capacity to be quite challenging, depending on the rules.
And even if you're really good, you can still be challenged by levels like "Joker's Carnival," for how much it asks of you in order to ace it
