Supposedly the gameplay trailer included a massacre in a saloon similar to what just happened in Orlando so it was cut from E3
Rumor mill has it that game was supposed to be revealed at Sony presser at the end but the trailer was pretty much one of the MCs shooting up a bar and killing everyone inside after they pissed him off.
Orlando thing was few days ago.
Sony and Rockstar couldn't cook up a new trailer and decided to simply not show it.
That is also why Days Gone was randomly demoed at the end.

But I'm still fine with just Red Dead, Revolver is pretty much forgotten and not worth playing. They redeemed the franchise with Redemption and I think it's fine if they just use the main title for the next one.
