As someone who was raised in a very diciplined environment the tough love element isnt new to me. I felt it was pretty cool the way he forced the boy into harsh responsibility. As shown at the end, he doesnt console him, despite wanting to, as a means to force independance on the child. He also helps him thrust the knife into the deer too.
But other areas seem to jump from caring but toughg parent into overly aggressive asshole. When he berates the boy for missing the shot, its just being a dick.
He also flipflops from being very caring to overly harsh. One minute the boy is completely in charge its "his hunt" next minute he cant shoot until instructed.

PS2 versions are locked at 30 FPS, you aren't getting the 2 other games (Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta) and you don't get updated model for Kratos in GoW1. And his GoW1 model is really poor.
