Plenty of other gameplay elements like getting perfect fusions, sidequests to get skills/items, and some memorable boss fights.
What I liked about Tartarus is that you had a choice whether to do it or not every single day. It really helped roleplaying to decide when to go, whether you party members wanted to go etc. And the procedural generation never made you backtrack.
I hated Persona 4 because it made you do 5 hours of social links and then rush through the dungeon as fast as you can to not waste time.

Bad analogy, mate. Those are ADAPTATIONS, not translations. Adaptations at their core are reinterpretations of an original work through a new medium by (usually) different people.
Translations on the other hand are intended to keep the meaning as close as possible.
