If for example a character were in a bad situation, they simply press a button to get to a better advantage for them. Instead of using skill to ensure the chances of being a situation decrease, they only need to rely on abilities to stay alive.

I'll concede Tac Visor in that you don't need the greatest positioning/aim to net kills with it and doesn't leave 76 as vulnerable but its not as instant kill as the other two

That said they do match the kits of their heroes(flanking based for the first two, upfront assault with the team for 76) so the tradeoffs are understandable

I think they actually have the reverse effect more often than not. Aside from Zarya/Supports, most ults are wasted or interrupted.

Twitch-aim is only a part of the skill-set required for the game. Some heroes require a strategic approach or have specialized niches where they are useful, then get swapped out as the game evolves.

If you want a game that only requires twitch-aim, there's plenty of those available.

Only at shitter-levels of MMR can ults be considered "free kills". It's so absurdly easy to shut down or completely negate many ultimates that most of the time they're only used strategically (D.Va or Hanzo using theirs to zone people off objectives, Reinhardt to counter pushes etc.).

Wiping out the opposing team requires them to be either brain-dead morons, already losing or completely distracted (in which case you fulfilled the purpose of the ult).

It's just frustrating when I've just played a heated and well fought match with great players on my team, and then the next match my whole team are shitters who don't understand that YOU HAVE TO SIT ON THE FUCKING POINT IF YOU WANT TO MOVE THE OBJECTIVE FORWARD.

This matchmaking is literally to appease casuals so they can win 50% of the time, and it's annoying that decent players are (for now) forced into a 50% winrate due to the way blizzard has set their shit up.

Because OW, COD, BF and Halo (the more recent ones) to a very wide degree are all twitch shooters, that is to say, that the person that shoots the most accurately and typically, first, will win. Quake was not a twitch shooter in really any sense of the definition. Shooting first is seldom advantageous and at high end competitive play not necessary at all to be very skilled. Quake, UT, and, historically to a large degree, TF2, are *movement* based FPS, where the person who knows the maps, knows the movement and physic system will always outlast a better aiming opponent. Its really just a difference in the dynamic of the game. In Quake you see more verticality in maps and far greater movement (players seldom are on the same side they started on for very long) and camping a corner, while doable, is not recommended (as it will put you out of position to rush a med pack potentionally, and, at higher play, memorization of spawn times is a vital skill), and planing out movements and jumps is far more successful skill set than reaction time. COD and OW and such reward fast reflexes more than anything, with an unplanned encounter still easy to win if one simply shoots first.

Not every weapon requires range to still be a twitch. Perfect example is Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, which only has a few projectile weapons at all. Yet it is most definitely a twitch combat game in the sense that movement skill plays little effect in the outcome of an encounter, its who knows when to swing at the right movement that wins (read: accurate 'fire'). Put another way: in OW, how long could you expect to last as an expert in movement against most hero's without ever shooting them? That is to say time out how long you can stand, run, juke, and bounce around in front of an enemy player w/o trying to shoot/hit them back? In a movement based combat game it should be infinite. The better mover will always outlast aim. In a twitch, sheer luck will land enough dmging hits to end this. And thats the primary difference. I put no judgement on either, both have their place, both have their skilsets. The problem only arises when you try to combine the two. Lately TF2 has fallen into this problem and so has OW.

Here's the actual explanation you mathematically illiterate moron: because you win a lot, your elo rating rises, and you get paired with and against better players, so winning will naturally not be as easy as before when you were paired with scrubs and played against scrubs.
