It looks fine for a PS4 game, the character models are good (it's great seeing a series actually try and animate semi-realistic looking japanese people), the environments look nice and the animations are badass.

It's alright since there's not much ties with anything since it's a prequel, but you will miss out on a million references and if you play the other games characters like Majima and Nishiki will have drastically different personalities.
