Not ugly, but I do like how the early Silent Hill games went out of their way to give characters a more human imperfect natural look. In the Silent Hill 2 documentary making of thing, the guy talks about how he purposefully designed Maria so that even though she shows off her waist, it's actually not a perfect model waist but a more average one that is slightly sticking out from the tight clothes around it.
